13 years – and yet every year since Sandy Hook, more parents join the growing cohort of families who grieve losing their child to a school shooting.

We can end this. Thoughts and prayers aren’t enough. The time for policy and action has been overdue for years.
Even after 13 years, the searing pain & grief remains real. At the Sandy Hook firehouse on that December 14, I saw loved ones learn that their 20 beautiful children & 6 great educators would never be coming home. We must honor them with action.

I’m devastated the epidemic of gun violence has shattered yet another community.

This shooting at Brown University came before another tragic anniversary- as 13 years ago, 26 innocent lives were stolen from us at Sandy Hook Elementary School. (1/2)

Our students deserve to grow up and go to school without fear. I will keep fighting for policies that keep our communities safe from acts of senseless gun violence.

As we mourn the terror attack in Australia today, we honor the lives lost at Sandy Hook and keep working so gun violence isn't the leading cause of death for kids in our nation.

Only in America do we have anniversaries of multiple mass shootings on the same day.
Sending love and light to those impacted by the Simon’s Rock (Bard College) shooting 35 years ago today.
And 34 years ago today, 2 people were killed and 4 others were injured when a student opened fire at Bard College at Simon's Rock in Great Barrington, Massachusetts

Yesterday, 2 students were killed & 9 others were injured at Brown University. School shootings shouldn’t be the norm, but the inaction of our lawmakers puts every student at risk. @Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter was killed in Parkland, spoke with MSNow about the tragedy.

Disgusting. He's directing the DOJ to undo gun regulations, making these tragedies more likely to occur.

Sandy Hook should have been the turning point.

Instead, 13 years later, gun violence continues to terrorize our communities, as we saw again at Brown yesterday.

We have to act now—and stop accepting this as normal.
