Maybe, but I can compartmentalize. I adore the F&F franchise and fully embrace the junk food nature of it while still recognizing how F8 dropped the ball. I just hate everything the Russos did. WS, CW, and IW are painfully bad to me just as movies.

I think they need to quit drama and return to fun.

I don't even believe in that as some kind of absolute. I don't even think that about Joker, despite all of the people who were freaking out about it at the time. I judge case-by-case.

But this franchise and message in 2019?

Anyone who agrees with Malthusianism can watch the movie and feel like it was made to make them feel right. That's BAD. In Trump's America, that's irresponsible at best, actively malicious at worst.

Infinity War is every Nazi's favorite MCU movie.

The movie explicitly states that his approach works and the only argument against it from the heroes is "but killing is bad." Thanos is validated.

Fast forward to today.
At least Thanos had the decency to see it as a difficult burden instead of posing gleefully at concentration camps.

It's AT BEST an aggressively mid action-espionage movie that happens to star people's favorite action figures.

Civil War was an insult to all of the characters involved and the relationships that their previous handlers had built. "He killed my mom" is such a bullshit "kill the dog" shortcut.

Watching the Russo brothers tank their reputation to the tune of hundreds of millions in the years since Endgame has been so validating.

I will die on the hill of their MCU entries being ass. The only reason they were successful was the talent and franchise they were propped up by at Disney.
