Last, I "Capture a Memory" with inspiration from our discussions of the character ties. So I write a short entry about the glass oven industry in our home town. (Everyone grabs 1 Memory token and writes their first diary entry, too).

Cousins, “Why do you never visit?” I think maybe it’s the wealthy part of town and maybe they’re embarrassed by me? Or maybe they have no ovens there. Or they have a goofy little steamer bot that cleans their ovens instead.

Strangers, “Why do I consider you family?” I’m nice to everyone. It might clean a public oven that other families get to use. Or there was a big bread order for the governor, and so I cleaned all the ovens in record time and saved the day.

On my character sheet, I set my Valor to 5 and Stardust to 2.
The we create Ties to the other characters at the table with some questions. I imagine I’ll be adventuring with Strangers, Cousins, and Twins:
"Why do I consider you family?"
"Why do you never visit?"
"Why are you a mystery?"

Upbringing I’m picking Oven Urchin because I don’t understand it. Do I live in an oven? Do I clean ovens for a wage? It’s very Grimm’s Fairy Tale weird and I dig it. That gives me the Traits Robust (d4) and Timing (d6). Item is “Something Fiery” so I’ll go with Burnt Toast.

I think we came from a riveting capital, a big bright city of light and glass.
The Daydream is a star-showered sea orbited by planet worlds. Our city is a distant star.
Why are we here? We’re looking for a dear friend. Camilla. She said she had a secret to tell us but now she’s gone.

It's like a big pope lady who's the sky but there's kids crawling on her and walking up the stairs on her body but also there are little bats.

I LOVE making impromptu lore at the table as part of play! That’s how you start the ball rolling, for buy-in and creative ownership.

Same with equipping the players for communication and collaboration. This stuff isn’t easy. And giving people more options and tools to use as they like is how you have a supportive and creative culture for everyone.
