Check out our new alien character playbook: the VERDANT!

Ooh I wanna hear your thoughts. I really wanted a final arc that wasn't so deferential to Rogue One, but I don't think that was ever going to be possible

I'm so glad you made it in time, Rob!

I just backed this expansion to an absolutely fantastic RPG. Feel like a road trip after an alien invasion? This is your jam.

I think it's super rare! There are plenty of walking sims too, but I'm specifically thinking about games with lots of systems that STILL aren't focused on killing

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is helping me realize my favorite genre, which I didn't know existed:

low-to-no-violence immersive open worlds

They're real. They're narrative. You can make potions, and fighting is weird and de-emphasized. I want to play a hundred thanks

I think I played this guy as a Last Caravan character once

Rob was a delightful and friendly person who immediately treated me like a peer despite his experience and thoughtfulness.

Rob Wieland was the tabletop community's Man At Forbes who did a lot to promote us all in the public eye. His last post was on the Last Caravan Kickstarter, which he probably did not anticipate would be his last.

May we all attain the level of kindness and geekery that Rob did.

Extremely sad to hear the passing of Rob Wieland. He was a beloved figure in tabletop and a friend.

Will miss our post-con chats, Rob.

My latest essay is on @olddog.games's "Deathmatch Island!" I talk about how the game designs its climax around the Prisoner's Dilemma, and how, despite the fact that the game wants you to break that cycle, that initial tension is the best part of the text.

I'm creating a Google Sheets character keeper for The Last Caravan #TTRPG, and this is looking pretty slick.
a FitD-style Google Sheets character sheet for The Last Caravan.

In the new Last Caravan expansions we're diving more deeply into our weird world, fleshing out the aliens and their culture. Nothing is more emblematic of that than THE VERDANT, our new alien biologist playbook! Be an alien! Have a backpack with a lil guy in it!

I really, really want to get the Last Caravan #TTRPG running again. Playing in a game would be perfectly acceptable, too.

Huzzah! You all get to see the composition that took soo long to figure out. You can't really find a good model photo for "giant crab man getting danger kisses from a dog" on the old interwebs.
Whoo boy. A large red crab alien, with two huge outer arms, and four smaller torso arms, is carrying three dogs. Two puppies, one on its shell barking at pursuers, and another in one huge claw. The last dog is the mother? Cradled in the smaller arms, and licking the crab-alien on its mouthparts. The crab is wincing slightly with all six eyes. Three drones, alien in origin, are pursuing the group through a winter woods scene.
