when I first moved in with the Bear from my caravan it was amazing to have a flushing toilet *in the same building*, & that I didn't have to go out in the rain. Although I still do regard compost loos as infinitely better than flushing ones.

drove our new-to-us car for the first time today. it is an extremely fancy grown-up car that must have been £££ when new. it has heated seats and cruise control and the most amazing cup holders I have ever encountered

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.

as an aside, a friend of mine was a kids' illustrator in the 90s & would regularly draw pictures of men holding hands, women holding hands in crowd scenes. He knew the publishers wouldn't notice, & he also knew the queer kids would.

An illustrator friend did a kid's book where one of the mums wore hijab. Not to make a point, just as part of a normal city school background. Took it to publisher and was asked to remove because it 'wasn't a book about inclusivity'
