Buying used books is great because I can save up to $10 on a single book from the original price, but it’s sad having to carefully tape ripped pages back together 🥲

Thinking about it a lot of fandom language takes insults and uses them in an affectionate way. & along with family terms, there’s also the comparing them to animals (in a positive way but it could be insulting). I think I’m just used seeing this all as positive that I didn’t think abt the negative

You need to read Kindred by Octavia Butler.

I just finished it and highly recommend.

It’s brutal and raw and mystical and so complicated.

I need to go back and finish the Lillith’s Brood novels.

Well I did in fact have a ear and nose infection and have been suffering for a month thinking it was just my normal head, sinus and ear pain increasing a bit… I can never tell when I have sth serious to not when it’s buried under my every day issues jeez

I get that. I personally say them as a lighthearted means of affection for older celebs, not meaning to push the actual grandparent role onto them at all, but I see how it can be negative
