As people have observed time and time again, the Hong Kong government doesn't need anyone inciting hatred against them as they do it so well themselves.

That they’re late as usual, clueless, and not welcome really pisses them off.

While German newspapers publish titles like "The spirit of the democracy movement awakens once more" - there are already some other things happening in Hongkong.
I have also spoken to a journalist that lives in the neighborhood and he has confirmed that the government "care teams" have started taking over relief centers, kicking out volunteers and taking over supplies donated by the general public.

The issue, as always, it's not that right wingers back Taiwan. It's why left wingers are so supportive of PRC imperialism and aggression.
Wrote on views of Takaichi in Taiwan in my latest for @NikkeiAsia. Takaichi's domestic viewpoints are very out of step with the progressive values contemporary Taiwan holds dear, making her the latest right-wing actor to uncomfortably back Taiwan

Sold a 5€ vinyl record.

Searched for it, was in a shelf behind the TV. Put away the TV, with the attached Raspberry Pi.

The Pi being without case, scrubbing over an old DJ case, made out of...ehm...metal.

So short circuited and ruined a 50€ mini computer, while selling a 5€ record. Ouch....

The reality:

Japanese expats in China are facing discrimination, violence - up to brutal killings throughout the last time.

And now the CCP comes, and tells you lies turning reality *exactly* upside down.

Signature move by them. And I'm so sick of it.

We may not know our neighbours' names or socialise with them but Hongkongers will help complete strangers when the need arises. I've seen it time and time again. Including in 2019.

#Taiwan VP Bi-khim Hsiao went shopping at a 🇯🇵 store in #Taipei "to support Japanese seafood and Japanese goods 😻"

The hashtag #TaiwanJapanFriendship ( #台日友好 ) was used.

Among her purchases were #scallops advertised with a drawing of President Lai Ching-te, a nod to his #sushi lunch the other day.

Mit seinem "Hobby" die NINA App in ganz Köln auslösen zu lassen, muss man auch erstmal schaffen.

Hoffe die Nachbarn finden schleunigst eine halbwegs akzeptable Übergangsbleibe.

Quite interesting guess from Arthur Ding, a professor at the NCCU.

But another guess: as Trump spoke to Takaichi - maybe his next stunt will be claiming "ending the war between China and Japan".

(sort of a joke, but with the orange nitwit everything is possible)

Ok. This isn't mostly about cycling.

Rather a quite good travel documentary with everyday life in Taiwan, but done in the typical calm NHK style.
NHKs "Cycle around Japan" just released an episode about cycling around Taiwan.

Could be just coincidence - or some soft power eye wink😂

(actually I don't like videos of cyclists "travelling" without luggage, but I appreciate the images)
