Update:

Apparently my books AND the expired coupons that made them free have "migrated" to the company that bought Smashwords. I have no idea how to access the new account.

I have unpublished my books on evil Amazon (or at least I tried to)

I resent having so little control over my own property.
All my novels are available to download for FREE. You'll find a link in the following post. Perfect reading if you're a fan of well-crafted whodunnits!

But don't just take my word for it. See what my wonderful readers have to say...

Enjoyed the slightly patchy series The Regime; billed as a political drama about a year in the palace of the chancellor of a modern European authoritarian regime on the verge of collapse. It’s quite funny, wants to be The Death of Stalin, but also a bit bleak. m.imdb.com/title/tt2137...

This week I have been watching Dinosaur a charming comedy about an autistic woman finding her way through life, written by and starring Ashley Storrie.
It's a lovely ensemble piece featuring loads of 'weel kent faces'
from the Scottish comedy scene, on the BBC but I think it's on Hulu as well

I also love the town they've created.

The tower the children go to is pure King.
OH!

I absolutely LOVED this. To be honest, better than any of the originals, which it steals from.

I'm expecting big things, not least from Chris Chalk, who seems shifty beyond belief and whose name is Halloran.

Red Rum! 😉

For Halloween horror, "IT: Welcome to Derry" hits the spot!

Only one episode aired so far of this prequel series, covering the early 60s incarnation of IT, but you get a LOT of screams packed in, and no Pennywise yet! 😱

On Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK, and HBO in the US, says the AI summary.

Ooh yes! I saw this at too young an age and it definitely left an impression.

Watched it again a few years ago and it still stands up.

Oh, I remember this being on offer somewhere.

Again I added it to my To Watch list, but never got around to it.
I've seen it advertised on itvX, Buzzbead.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Vicky McClure. I think it's sad she always gets cast as a fearless shouty protagonist.

Morning Michael
Hmmm . . . Trigger Point.
I have a love/hate relationship with this series. The main character’s a maverick who’s always right and I find myself yelling at the TV when it all gets too far-fetched. But, do you know what, it’s still very watchable on ITVx.

Monday October 30, 1854.

My return to the office was met warmly by Mr Tibbles, who deigned to let me pet him with my good arm.

I told George about yesterday's visitor.

"Bertha's sent Alex and Charley on a train up to Scotland to find them," I added.

"Wish she'd sent me," he muttered.

"War of the Worlds" didn’t panic America. Newspapers did. buff.ly/3cOZz1S

An interesting article based on research into history’s most infamous radio broadcast of H.G. Wells’ alien invasion novel in 1938, which reportedly caused widespread panic. Even the author was "perturbed".

"War of the Worlds" didn’t panic America. Newspapers did.
Legacy newspapers inflated a handful of complaints into a "mass panic" to blunt radio’s rise and defend their influence.

Had a wonderful crop of Damsons this year, so prepared some for the freezer. 😋 👍
There isn't one. But you may notice that (like Spanish, which also uses syllables for stress), the number of syllables is an important pointer.
Some things are handed down, Cal.
Me, I pronounce sacrum as say-crum (two syllables).

Sacroiliac always begins with sack (more than two syllables).

Standard English generally relies on the number of syllables to determine the received pronunciation.
