Jesus Christ... Every quote I see from this article is more unhinged than the last

Will never understand why people think it's ok to watch videos/listen to music/talk on speaker phone with no headphones in public place. Unhinged behavior.

The "women don't like the car" quote isn't even the wildest one!
People occasionally just flip [me] off or whatever, but nobody's come up to me and tried to make a statement about anything. Personally, it's kind of dumb. It's just a vehicle. So it's ironic that it would even become a political statement, but nonetheless it is. [Editor’s note: Taylor was arrested and plead guilty to conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding in the January 6 attack on the Capitol. He was later pardoned by President Trump.]
The tragedy here is the naked display of who actually matters. UB's evolving role in the game has become emblematic of WotC/Hasbro placing short term gain over the long-term health of the community supporting it. "For the foreseeable future" ultimately means "for as long as shareholders are happy."
And FWIW I understand that you as an individual likely have little control over much of this. Hasbro is surviving off the back of MTG players and decisions made in the C-suite for shareholders rarely incorporate the type of long-term thinking that fosters trust between producer and consumer.
There's a whole host in implications here, but chief in my mind is that one can/should only trust Wizards if they have a big enough megaphone. Everyone else just has to wait and see how long a particular commitment holds.
But your assertion creates two tiers of relationships. In the first tier we have creators, who can (apparently) implicitly trust Wizards not to double back on a commitment. In the second tier we have the players, who have had the opposite experience over the last five years.
Likewise, your characterization of those 'relationships' being separate from where the game goes is concerning. Magic as a game and a brand only exists because of the relationship it has built with the players, organizers, dealers, etc... over decades.
As @jonnyandromeda.bsky.social pointed out, this statement is in direct conflict with a commitment not to punish creators associated with the game. Sure that's the commitment now, and "for the foreseeable future", but how long does that actually go for?

Remember how we just went through a multi-week newscycle where Democrats and liberals were lambasted for their "violent" political rhetoric, which included Fox hosts claiming that only one political party was demonizing their political opponents as evil? And how libs needs to lower the temperature?
Leavitt: "The Democrat Party's main constituency is made up of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals."
Every communication about UB has undermined that trust, to the point that I and most players I know don't take anyone at Wizards at face value anymore. If we can't trust Wizards on one thing, we can't trust Wizards on anything. (2/2)
An easy example is the reserve list. I don't know anyone outside of certain dealers that actually like the reserve list, but that commitment (no matter how flawed) has stood for decades now. Even if we hate it, WotC standing by it has meant that we could trust promises made by the company. (1/2)
Dude has a point, though. If Wizards isn't going to stand by this sort of proclamation, how can any guarantee of future behavior, whether that's about relationships or how the game 'evolves and changes', be trusted? These things aren't as separate as you make them out to be.

If you aren't happy single, you won't be happy taken. Happiness comes from Star Trek, not relationships.

Trump and Bessent clarify that they will only help out Argentina as long as Milei is in power. Trump adds that the same thing goes with NYC, where the White House will hold up funds if Mamdani wins.

Mike Johnson: "They berated a Capitol police officer, screamed at him. He was merely standing his post. It shows, again, their disdain for law enforcement, the Democrats, screaming, assaulting officers."

Quick question: If the Republicans are right, and someone is paying millions and millions of us to protest, and has done it hundreds of other times, and they STILL can't figure out who's funding us, aren't they way too stupid to hold office?
Sean Duffy: "The No Kings protest, Maria, really frustrating. This is part of antifa, paid protesters. It begs the question who's funding it."

The entire incident is infuriating and terrifying. She’s a Latina woman who was working a service job. On her way home late at night, with her headphones in, she was detained for an hour by masked federal agents who wouldn’t give her their names.
Maria Greeley, 44, had just finished working a double shift at the Beach Bar on Ohio Street
earlier this month when she said she was surrounded by three federal agents who grabbed her, forced her hands behind her back and zip tied her.
Headphones in, Greeley had been focused on getting home to her two dogs for a walk.
Instead, she said she was detained by masked agents who did not answer when she asked for names. They questioned her for an hour, she said.

I’m gonna go to a No Kings rally on Saturday and I hope all of you will too! There are more of us than there are fascists and it’s time to remind them.
The fact that top Republicans are already fearmongering about, lying about, the No Kings rallies this Saturday, across the US, tells you how worried they are about public pressure and protest against their reactionary, autocratic, anti-American agenda.
