The PS2 truly is the best console ever because it is constantly becoming more powerful. Each time we say something "looks like a PS2 game" we're talking about a game of a higher fidelity than the last. What the PS2 is capable of in 2025 is so far beyond what it was capable of in 2003. That's amazing

of course this won't apply to software journalists, who will be allowed to use the title without any standardized requirements and no accountability
"journalist" should be a protected title, like "engineer". that if you misrepresent things, you lose your practice
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

I really like slower goth-inspired black metal in the vein of agalloch, none, later ulver, etc. one thing I've always wondered is like. When do you just start calling it 'rock'
<- wanted to try GRM Atelier but will have to wait I guess
look I can understand making an app mac-less due to the fact that their toolchain only runs *on* macs, and I can understand excluding windows for political reasons, but what I can never wrap my head around is making an app mac-only. What is even the point

videogames can offer incredible expereinces. for instance, what if after overcoming a challenge yuo were offerd one of a few random upgrades to your abilities. or say you wanted to be given the choice between various arbitrary improvements to your skills upon completing a task

So with my happiness being undervalued and my anger being overvalued, my emotions (as perceived) have a negative tilt, slight or wild depending on how well someone knows me. But in reality I think I’m pretty chill, just, you know, raw
I do not filter any of my emotions. One effect is that people downplay my happiness because most people put on a happy face whether they mean it or not. Second effect is that my anger and sadness look more intense because most people hide it.
(Also will implement raycasting as well, in the same update that adds hulls & meshes)
Collision library done, for now. Convex hulls & Meshes remain unimplemented, but all the basic shapes are there: points, axis-aligned boxes, spheres, capsules. And you can select what kind of spatial partition you want, too. Right now it's just a Grid but I plan to implement Octrees, BVHs, etc soon
I forgot I don't have a switch 2. Well, problem solved, ZA bundle, yayyyyyy
The biggest reason I want to keep modules separate is because I don’t want the users of my libraries to pull in stuff they don’t need or won’t use. But if you’re dealing with geometry, and you’re not pulling in a physics engine, you’ll probably want all of the above anyway
And that’s what it is, I mean, I wrote the spatial queries specifically to serve as the broad phases of the collision detection. The fact that they can get all entities nearby or within a radius or whatever is just a nice addition.
I tried to make my architecture nice & separated but since Odin doesn’t have traits or interfaces or whatever I think the easiest way to integrate my code is to just include collision detection in the spatial module, since it directly depends on it.
