it's a really interesting question because a sensible person will turn the game off if it blows, so the answers are either from complete sickos or from people who have completed exactly 4 games and so say "Metal Gear Solid 2" by default

fwiw Mastodon does offer this, though it's a confusingly named "Quiet Public (fewer algorithmic fanfares)", it basically means the post doesn't show in federated global feed / discover algorithms / search results, but isn't locked to friends-only. Also called "unlisted". It's pretty handy!

like seriously team, I know y'all are working on both improving Discover and on better reply sentiment filtering and all, but it's going to take a while to tune it properly and a "never show my post on Discover" setting would be a 10 minute fix that would get 65% of why people want private accounts

ofc you don't know when those are actually useful (what if Twitter had been regularly rolling off Trump's tweets after 2 years?) but it is a difficult tension when people are encouraged not to have intentionality in what they put online

this is "bad" and I'm thinking of this w/ other bots too (the weather?) but I think the bigger issue is that posts to someplace like this are thought of as "disposable" yet don't really go away. do you need all that commentary from 50,000 users about a particular NBA game for eternity?

His statement says otherwise.. but I typed "Math Rock Chiptune" into Suno AI and the results sound the same to me.. especially the drums and leads sound identical.

the fedi solution is something like "host your own instance" and/or "you may choose an instance that you know won't ban you to begin with," also "your posts have been federated already to everyone else anyway" (you do not need to point out the issues with this to me though)

youtube says they'll do "auto dubbing" of videos now and I guess ok fine if I have to have it... but could they not do the dubbing into some generic computer voice, instead of trying to recreate MY voice for it? would feel better if it was a known "dub" voice instead of trying to match it to mine

this Reddit comment about SNES game "Drakkhen" really got me. sorry to OP, sometimes having a good story to tell is worth $100 though

Funny story about this game. I decided I had to have it. Not sure if I saw a review in a Nintendo magazine or what but 18yr old me needed it. I went to the mall and picked it up. If I remember it was like 49 bucks or something which to me at the time was a TON.

I got the game and went straight to Aladdin's Castle arcade and played a few games. Dumb 18yr old me left the game by the last game I was playing and started playing another. By the time I realized I'd left the game on the ground by another console it was too late. Gone. Stolen.

I was so intent on getting that game, I immediately went and bought another and my stomach was sick while I was doing it. I just spent almost 100 bucks on a game.

Got the game home and guess what. Total shit.
