🔮 FREE POST 🔮
My newest post is dedicated to all my members! It expands upon Hekate's role as a household goddess and explores some of the ways we can incorporate more of Her into our home life. #Hekate

I want liberation for everyone.

Not just the people I like, the people who like me, or the people in my communities.

I want free food and housing and healthcare and education and representation for EVERYONE. Human rights are for EVERYONE. And if you hate my guts, I want those things for you too.
I do, but I'm losing access to it due to recent changes for nonresidents. This really bums me out because the library I was using had a fantastic occult/pagan ebook collection! My current borrow is Ronald Hutton's QUEENS OF THE WILD; my last borrow was Laura Tempest Zakroff's SIGIL WITCHERY. 🔮
Thank you, Artemis, for giving me the courage and determination to finish this anthology submission, even if my work ultimately wasn't accepted. Not all hunts end successfully, but I'm proud of myself for having tried. 🖤

Image of Kybele seated on a throne flanked by two lions, holding a pomegranate in one hand and a frame drum in the other. On the back is an image of two pine trees, like that found at her shrine in a temple of Aesclepius.

This is an idea that fell into my head at the beginning of August. It was inspired by the ancient Greek tendency to leave votive offerings at temples in gratitude for fulfilled wishes. I wanted to incorporate something similar into my own practice!

I'm inclined to agree with this. I'm not yet at a point where I'm working a lot of magick consistently (I'm figuring some stuff out), but I don't like the idea of "locking myself out" of my own practice because I'm not calm or joyful.
To quote Kelly-Ann Maddox in WITCH IN DARKNESS: "If you expect your witchcraft practice to look perfect and for you to be perfect whenever you engage in it, you will not trust it as a haven when you’re scared, sad, angry, stressed or unsure. You will alienate yourself from it when you need it most."
🔮 PUBLIC POST 🔮
My newest essay reflects upon spiritual discernment, divine callings, and the obstacles we may confront when attempting to commune with deities in the modern age. #PaganSky

Learning how to communicate with your chosen "higher power" (Deities, spirits, ancestors, HGA, Higher Self, etc.) is an important first step in magick because many of your questions can be answered by them. The less you communicate with them, the more you'll be reliant on external sources.

A recent read for my deep-dive on Artemis. I really appreciate Ionescu's attempts to expand on some of the lesser-known aspects of this underrated goddess. 🏹🖤
An essay about the nature of Artemis, following some personal revelations/reflections in my own practice:

Inspired by recent developments in my own practice, here are some thoughts about the possibility of Hekate retreating from our practice or "passing the torch" to another deity/spirit.

HEKATE HER SACRED FIRES is an anthology I've started recommending to those new to Hekate because it's a great overview of just how vast and varied Hekatean worship is in modern day. 🔥

My own thoughts below (for keyholders):

Just got my hands on Carla Ionescu's SHE WHO HUNTS. Hoping it'll make for some great devotional reading/research. 🦌🏹

It's a shame it's so hard to find decent sources on Artemis's historical worship, though.
This seems to happen to a lot of Hekatean candles, lol. Very appropriate for the Torchbearer! 😂
I'm expanding my content a bit! More details here, along with an overview of the articles and essays I have lined up for the remainder of the year. 🔮

If you want to befriend the trees, take them some water, ask them their name. Say hello when you see them. Thank them for protecting your home and the land you live on. Most people pay trees no mind, but they’re watchful guardian spirits. #WitchSky #PaganSky #SpiritWork

I'm honestly really tempted now to go back through my journals to see just how long I was being pointed toward Artemis.

The more I reflect on it, the more I'm beginning to realize that Artemis really is the presence I need right now, and it grieves me that I waited this long to focus on Her. 😔
It's all good! Most creative types are designed to *create,* not to sell ourselves, so it's extra painful for us. But yes, it's rough out there regardless. Definitely not what I signed up for when I was a kid dreaming of being a prolific author. 🥹 Better to just enjoy the process of writing!
As an author who chose self-pub, I had to change my approach and mindset after a few years because the publishing landscape was so depressing (and I sunk SO much money into it for very little return). Writing as a hobby is probably the way to go!
I haven't, but my understanding is that it's heavily witch-centered—a modern grimoire, basically, that revolves around Hekate. Many people seem to dig it, though I've heard a few readers claim it's too dark & edgy for them. (I had a peek at the introduction; I can see why some would say this, lol.)
