Hey, remember websites? Remember personal websites? I still have one at monkeyfluids.me - it's got links to pretty much everything I've ever done on the internet. And now it's been remade as a properly hosted site instead of the jury-rigged Tumblr blog it used to be! Marvel.

We're back! @mrxdentith.com and I, specifically! We're back, and doing an In Memoriam for January 2026 while waving food in your ears like some sort of medieval monarch. Henry VIII, for the sake of argument.
My Dinner with Wallace Shawn by @Em Dentith
Join Josh and M over dinner as they discuss the recently deceased.

So Yeats is pronounced "Yates" and Pepys is pronounced "Peeps"? This is why reading gives you cancer.

In this context, "hanged" is the wrong word to use - it should be "fewer".
*hanged

One thing about the current mode of making television is that it's removed the phenomenon of the clip show. My children have never seen a single clip show - by their age I'd seen dozens, including multiple eye-rolling Simpsons clip shows that made appoint of saying how shit clip shows were.

It's my birthday! I'm inaugurating my PS5's new disc drive by watching DEMOLITION MAN on Blu-ray. I still stand behind everything I wrote here:
Why Demolition Man is the Best Batman Film
The number and variety of Batman films in existence mean that there’s something for everyone to favour: you can like the Tim Burton ones if you prefer it gothy; you can like the Christopher N…

This is the most I have ever or will ever identify with Ben Affleck.

Be warned that the trailer for THEY WILL KILL YOU appears to spoil every kill and fight scene in the film. Looks like a hell of a lot of fun, though.

I took a single step forwards in my own home while barefoot. Tripped on the side of the fireplace, dislocated a toe.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

A week and a half out from my 50th birthday I have, for the first time, had to ask one of my children what a text abbreviation is short for. That's not too bad.

say what you will about Andrew Tate, but his decision to not have a chin likely saved his life in that fight. Just one of those uppercuts would've killed Bruce Campbell.

And here's the latest patron bonus episode, in which @mrxdentith.com and I explain Santa's costume in terms of blood and cocaine, then do the year in review thing.

A new paper review, which I consider to be the Godfather Part II of podcast episodes, for reasons that should be obvious. @mrxdentith.com agrees with me I assume.
Problems with Particularism? by @Em Dentith
A couple of episodes ago, we looked at a paper on particularism by Kurtis, M and Charles - this episode we're looking at the paper that that paper was a response to, making it both a prequel and a seq...

Literally my favorite poem. Always repost.
The Gerald Locklin poem never fails to make me tear up.

This one, on the other hand...do I ever feel like it? Aye. Fuck it. Ah dae.

So I did that word cloud thing people keep posting images of, and you'll be pleased to know that "hitler" was not in the top five. Words 1 - 5? Definitely not "hitler".

I take full responsibility for the pun in the title of this episode, but it's @mrxdentith.com's fault that it rhymes.

Watched Bladerunner again last night. Would have been so much better if they had gone with the original idea, that instead of origami unicorns, Edward James Olmos’ character had made balloon animals.

A new episode and I'm barely in it! Great news for all the perverts who hate me but also follow me on Bluesky for reasons that should not be looked into. @mrxdentith.com says plenty, though, which is also great news for perverts.

I think a lot of AI hype is from people who don't know the difference between "impressive" and "actually good". I'm impressed that AI can do this, but it's very, very bad.
AI sitcom accidentally a Lynchian fever dream. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and insane lament.
