I'm just a casual observer, but I've never seen a more unhinged response from a leader of a sports/gaming organization. Especially given that they were pleading the FIDE to investigate before Danya's death. I see now that he's apologized and said emotions got the better of him, but jeezus.

I hate to direct you to Xhitter but it's where a lot of this is unfolding. I really hope lessons can be learned from this mess and maybe some good can come out of the tragic death of a beloved player.

The FIDE is investigating Kramnik but not before their CEO Emil Sutovsky tweeted that the "love given to Danya post-mortem is unprecedented" but "where all of you were when Danya was alive and unwell".

If you haven't been following there's a sad story of the death of a young chess grandmaster/influencer, Daniel (Danya) Naroditsky. There were cheating accusations and bullying from his former hero, Vladimir Kramnik, for months prior to his death in attempts to tarnish his reputation.

Exactly. I appreciate that the “no hidden info” is called out but just don’t think “play both sides” should be lumped in with games that have true solo modes.

I only play solo when there’s a solo mode/bot. I think it’s a cop-out that wargames are often listed as soloable when they’re really “play both sides w/no hidden info” and there should be a clear distinction between the two.

Enjoying it, and so far so good with rules. This campaign scenario has a lot more than we’ve done with the smaller scenarios, but it still seems straightforward. Gonna be interesting to see how we both do in the long haul. Her choppers scare me.
