I think they think everyone is stupid. Even the early models like llama are trained on data from the internet, there is no such thing as a "good ai". That's not how those programs work. And I always ask myself: If they stop hiring artists, won't they literally die out at some point?

thanks for providing me with this info. i knew about the possibilities to generate that but the "allowed to do that" is new but not surprising because LLMs are mostly made and used for cutting costs and making the billonares richer. we should make unions as artists or smth and strike....or whatever

As far as I can tell we won't be focusing much on the art side of making games (only two semesters concept art) which I find highly disappointing, because I wanted to look into becoming a technical artists and I bet you have to have a lot of art skils yourself.

So, after overhearing a discussion it is true we will be forced to work with generative ai to generate assets for games to "work faster and more efficient". Which is really funny, since all of us have an artist background. Wouldn't it be way smarter to give us the skills to draw & work faster?

my xp pen...pen is not working anymore. It's fixed, like I am pressing a button and I did everything possible. My cat kicked the pen off the table (accidents happen). I think it's broken. I need a tablet for my bachelors degree. Rip me. I already cried a lot, now I have to solve this problem.

I read this article www.afr.com/technology/a... and it's full of contradition. The worst thing is: the $2.3 million investement should have gone to start-ups which solve real issues. If the problem could be solved by talking to real people and do the things slow and good, THAN DO IT??

excuse my english. *There was a debate and the person argued copyright is bad, too. They used that to devalue my argument that generative ai is trained on copyrighted data. And I want to be better at arguing against that one.
