A personal fave DIVA hanging around the Exit upstairs, WINTER KILLS is fun, saw it that run after having left the Pike Place with their sketchy ownership (wages paid in long arrears). I projected TRON there before leaving though.
NAPOLEON at the Crest in 70 with Coppola’s dad’s meh soundtrack.
The Orpheum ad for a weekend of live music provided Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Paul Anka, and The Crickets ( headed by Buddy Holly) and more sounds like a pretty rockin’ affair.
Also fun to see the robot from WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE as the hook for a forgettable INVISIBLE BOY.

80 percent of ACA tax credits go to people living in states Trump won.

As @aoc.bsky.social says, Republicans think this shutdown is about punishing Democrats. But in reality, it hurts everybody.

Watch.
Interesting to see a one night opera having played at the Moore Egyptian, followed by today’s second-run double bill with another for the weekend. But the weekend has one of the earliest regular midnight shows of ROCKY HORROR in the country. We’re time warping now!
Dustin Hoffman in LITTLE BIG MAN @ the Cinemond w/ the late Bob Redford’s JEREMIAH JOHNSON is way better than crappy in every way sexploitation at a crappy drive-in.
While the corporate media echoed their noise and their silence.
… swam into one, died by drowning or concussion. The pool was permanently closed, & was used thereafter as loose storage. Got a look in ‘83 when managing the theatre for a few months for Seven Gables Theatres.
The Moore advertising Swim in their pool, in the basement. That basement pool has several structural pillars within it, sometime after this a swimmer ……
… after a pleasant chat when he stepped in during a personal visit to town. A real privilege to meet this courageous performer.
Remarkable how many ads there are for live performances. The Times runs a preview of the new & then-funny Bill Cosby, & a pic of the still funny Smothers Brothers. Passed Dick Smothers into UNDER THE SKIN at the Sundance Cinemas….
Spare yourself watching a cut-down presentation of LAWRENCE with a 2nd rate presentation ay the Coliseum, waste of time travel. Up the street is HOW THE WEST WAS WON at the SIFFDowntown in 3 strip Cinerama. Does SIFF own the print Paul Allen struck for the venue? Not a great movie, but the format!
BREAKER MORANT deserves a look at the Varsity.

The Eagles auditorium was a popular rock venue for years, would love to catch that Sousie concert there.
Late to this party-

CUTTER’S WAY deserves more love than it’s ever received, the presentation at the Uptown last week was first rate.

No ads for the Seven Gables Theatres? Seems unlikely. 5th Ave also oddly missing from the SRO stack, & yes, still running movies until ‘85. No Neptune ad either.

I’m probably overthinking this, but an argument in favor of Mamdani’s proposed public grocery stores in NYC is the success of the military commissaries. I hope the reason for the DoD proposal isn’t Mamdani Derangement Syndrome (I doubt it—probably just some Trump donor looking to cash in).
WHITE HEAT at Blue Mouse takes center stage on my day, + early mat of the campy FOUNTAINHEAD (Arabian), hoping to catch late Special Hollywood preview (swag??) at Paramount. Likely its THIEVES HIGHWAY, but maybe not.

More buses to the big parks + major upzones around the big parks = ✌️
During my 3 years living in Seattle without a car, my access to parks and nature was significantly constrained. Many of Seattle’s coastal parks are hard to reach by transit. So are the out-of-town hikes.

We can do better to ensure everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of the PNW
The assumption is they actually do hate ICE, but if the shadows are picked by ICE-friendly superiors, then they will protect their people from justice, even if real justice returns.
My 2¢.
Sure, but the leadership choose the 100 isn't one of those 100. Regulatory capture from the get go. And then what?
Good link.
What is it about citizen crosswalks that gets dots in a twist? Seattle has its own example

I think he'd want to know.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you.
Randy owned the tiny Movie House near the University of Washington. He thought the movie HEARTS AND MINDS was important, so he promoted it on his own time and money at a competitive theatre. Somehow he hooked up with Jeff and began working with him on other projects, and things clicked.
