The distance between what is in happening Gaza, fully backed with US dollars and political support, and the reaction of American politicians who by and large just don’t seem to care or support it is just completely brain-breaking.

Amidst shameful media neglect of genocide in #Gaza, there has been a consistent exception: the UK’s Channel 4 News.

Today’s report on the daily killings by Israelis of the starving queuing for food aid.

Wait for the UN assessment at the end.

This is a difficult but essential watch. Pls share.

I bought my husband a trip to Thailand as a Christmas gift, but really I just wanted a week off from being bombarded with sporting facts, stats and anecdotes.

Did you know that before the 19th amendment one of the reasons given for why women shouldn’t be allowed to vote was: “the mental exertion of voting would cause infertility in women.”

This was clearly an idea coming from people who didn’t understand the mental exertion of organizing a household.

This this this…. And growing up with crap (Irish) TV and being extremely bored..and ahem, Joseph Heller way too early but I vividly remember Frank O’ Connor and Maeve Binchy. Happy times!
I read a lot of stuff I probably shouldn’t have been reading as a kid, pilfered from my mum’s bookshelves, and I honestly believe if my parents had vetted my reading I probably wouldn’t be the reader I am today. Just let kids read what they like, it’ll be fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️
I don't believe in "good reading" & "bad reading". Comic books, graphic novels, manga, picture books, joke books, sports reports, all kinds of poetry & prose: it's all reading, and it's all good! Let kids read for pleasure - and they'll be readers FOREVER! #reading #literacy
