Today's migration stats illustrate the migration doom loop in action...

We rely on migration for the economy and several industries, decrease that and the economy is worse. A worsening economy means worse conditions. Unhappy public looks for someone to blame. Politicians tell them it's migrants. And so we end up in a never ending loop while everything gets worse.

The government’s decision to halve the time limit for refugees to leave Home Office accommodation is driving people into homelessness and exploitation, according to migrant rights campaigners and homelessness charities

New asylum policies making homeless refugees “targets for the far right”
Labour’s abrupt return to the 28-day move-on period is pushing vulnerable people into rough sleeping and exposing them to fraud and abuse.

Remember a significant proportion of Labour's proposals on immigration (not asylum) was on migrants needing to learn English (as if they don't already). They highlighted migrants as a problem, now the far-right know where to target them. So racist, so stupid.

"Reform would be worse" is both entirely correct and entirely irrelevant until polling day 2029. What matters right now is that Labour's approach is morally repugnant on its own terms, *and is empowering Reform*. As things stand today, its not Labour or Reform. Its Labour *then* Reform.
While it feels like I'm repeatedly slamming my head against a brick wall repeating this massively simple concept. Saying "Reform would be worse" doesn't make what Labour is doing better. Labour is now the most anti-immigration, anti-any marginalised group, government we have seen in decades. 1/
Very long thread: As with many of Labour's anti-immigration policies, this isn't new. British police have been stationed in other countries for this purpose for a long time
It does however show how Labour is pushing more on anti-immigration than previous governments. 1/

Shabana Mahmood's proposal to stop being told to "go back home" is to send people "home". Her proposal to stop black and brown people from feeling like they don't belong, is to bake in to the immigration system that they will never belong.

Telling the quotes here referring to 'criminals' etc. presuppose the accused are guilty & the trial process an inconvenience standing in the way of locking them up.

Truly fed up of people saying that the way to prevent a huge drift to the far-right is to keep Labour in govt. Their migration polices ARE far-right populist and make way for worse. Trad politics are done. Lab/Tories are done. The next election will not be fought how we've experienced them to date.

1. Farage’s ideas have form for crashing the economy/increasing discrimination
2. Labour intro Farage’s ideas and make it their responsibility.
3. When everyone is having a bad time, they won’t vote for the people/parties who made them have a bad time.

Is this not logical???
