I would not be surprised if one of the main writers of #pluribus is in recovery.

It’s not remotely what it’s about [1], but it captures some incredibly nuanced parts of what it’s like to be an addict.

[1] It’s probably 2% of the story.

This @allisonjo1.bsky.social article is spot on.

"As a developer you're going to love..."
"Since you like to..."

I love that it has a better memory, but it doesn't have to greet me like an eager puppy every time I ask it a question.

Tone it down sparky.

When my generation gave up on indenting paragraphs, we had no idea it would lead to a cataclysmic abandonment of capitalization and punctuation with the generations that followed.

Can we go back?

@danpfeiffer.bsky.social Putting into the liberal echo chamber:

Any dem running on an agenda that includes impeachment will be met with ambivalence. The last two did effectively nothing, yet cost useful attention and real dollars.

It also emboldens his base.

"Accountability" is a better message.

When making strong coffee in the morning, I’d warn @sarahbellum.bsky.social, “this will punch you in the face.”

Our baby turned into a kid, so we pivoted to, “this one’s a stiffy.”

Now the kid is in maturation class, and we have to pivot again to, “this one’s a triple decker.”

Growing up is hard.

@gruber.foo The carousel control on the Apple Creator Studio page supports your theory that maybe de-(gl)assification is already happening.

There's whimsy as it scrolls into view, but remains shaded. It's trivial to implement glass on the web, so this seem deliberate.

There's a sentiment that dems get nothing done.

While Republicans certainly get shit done, they do so by causing a stupid amount of harm (ICE, USAID, Venezuela, etc.).

It's almost like dems are vaccines. The lack of negative outcomes is a feature, not a bug.

I found AA culture to be unpalatable. However, seeing “the steps” framed this way resonates a lot.

We often let a few bad examples shape how we perceive a given topic or community.

It’s also why I always try to frame my own sober journey as, “this worked for me.” when someone asks for advice.
"The 1st AA members were just like us. They knew how it is to hate being told what to do. So they suggested we follow the 12 Steps. They didn't say we have to do anything. They didn't say working the Steps is the only way to live sober. They just said the Steps worked for them." KIS #SoberSky

Instead of whatever this is, we should have a government getting lots of new homes and apartments built, lots of clean energy built, lots of high speed rail and transit and bike lanes built, human rights for everyone, economic & healthcare opportunities for all, & innovation that leads the world.

I don't envy the law makers on this one. We know social media is toxic for children. You'd hope parents could be the voice of reason, but this doesn't seem to have worked out.

Treating social media like cigarettes seems both aggressive and sane at the same time.

I’m neither AI skeptic nor proselytizer.

This weekend, Google Gemini helped me meal plan ramen for my neurodiverse 11 year old. Down to sensory interactions to encourage ownership of the meal and how to level down flavor.

11 years old and she ate her first Asian meal because of AI. Astounding.
