They seem to have forgotten why pubs had restricted opening hours imposed in 1914. Workers and soldiers were getting to work intoxicated, and productivity suffered.

So, extending their hours more is "good for economic growth"? Really?

The idea that *any* work is better for mental health than no work at all is a complete myth.

It is a myth perpetrated by those who see mental health problems as a weakness in someone's character. Worst of all, some have no understanding of mental health issues at all.
