I think with men people don't consider childhood trauma enough. But those men were once little boys, completely at the mercy of fucked up adults, and what those adults "taught" them doesn't go away, it lives in them forever unless they do the very hard work of healing.

Trauma. My brother-in-law is married to the worst person I've ever known (my sister). I'm sure he felt bad abt himself when he met her, probably due to childhood trauma resulting in the inability to understand what love is supposed to feel like.
