also it is nuts how many recent indie games have nailed this game's low-poly haunted house aesthetic to the point where it almost feels contemporary playing it atm. grimy, bloody textures draped over jagged shapes.

tbh I don't usually upscale PS1 games, but Silent Hill 1 looks great at 2x, since it doesn't use pre-rendered backgrounds.

in dracula's case it's funny because i've watched like... four or five adaptations of it at this point? i just finished jonathan harker's letters and pretty much everything so far i've recalled lol.

i read carmilla earlier this week and am now reading dracula. honestly, i am shocked at how digestible these books are. but I guess it makes sense.

OK I finally got through all three levels.

it's OK. wasn't necessarily blown away, but I'll admit by the third stage I was enjoying bubsy's moveset a lot. i was kind of expecting this to be a collectathon, and i'm kind of bummed it isn't...

Two well-known voice clips from Super Mario Sunshine are Mario saying "Aren't I done yet?!" and "There's more?!" in an exasperated way, long presumed unused. However, there is actually a way to hear them in-game, as they have a chance to play when he enters a level at low health.

i played the tutorial area of the bubsy 4d demo and i can safely say it is a game that feels good to play. unfortunately i have to go to work now so i'll try to play the rest of it... sometime this week.
