You know you're part of the problem when you accuse someone, advocating more fairness, as having extreme views! 🫠
John Fetterman: New York City is very left. Socialism is not the Democratic Party's future. If Zohran Mamdani wins, I don't think he's going to be campaigning in the states to decide the next President. You won't see a lot of campaigning from people with these extreme views and opinions.

Yet again Germany flexes its sexist muscle... conscription for men 'new law introduces a “flexible activation” model which requires 18-year-old men to fill out a questionnaire about their potential interest in serving in the Bundeswehr'

Can we retire the use of the word ‘unicorn’ to describe bloated valuations? We’ve taken something mythical & noble & fed it through a meat grinder of capitalist jargon. What was a symbol of wonder is now a frat-boy trophy of inflated importance, fiscal delusion & outright capitalist depravity.

This is called age-discrimination, and shouldn't really be allowed under equality acts.

I suspect that if no one knows of its origin and never understood anything about it, it becomes irrelevant.
I learned that witch hats were related to brewers, traditionally women, who got too financially independent for society's liking. www.amightygirl.com/blog?p=33312

Strict gender norms and fears of witchcraft pushed women out of a centuries-long tradition.

Breaking news: The fate of far-right website Infowars will be controlled by the Onion after the satirical news site emerged as the winning bidder of Wednesday’s private auction of the media company founded by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

perhaps let's stop pretending that £2000 a month before tax is a sufficient salary in todays market.

The idea of AI generated content tailored for your pleasure is incredibly sad to me because we all know generative AI can only work off of what is known, and this in effect would rob a person of ever being profoundly transformed by a piece of art they didn’t even know they would love.

I think a scale difference here is important as well: y’all have about 1/5 of our population, but only about 3% as many elected offices. There are about 18,000 elected positions in the UK, verses our 520,000 (and that number is from 30 yrs ago it’s certainly bigger now)

I’m tired of defending diversity initiatives and pleading for my humanity. Let’s call this movement against DEI and affirmative action and equality what it really is: neo-segregationist. And let’s be clear about what we want instead: Integration. www.damemagazine.com/2024/02/13/t...

Asimov's concept of 'psychohistory' explores the interconnectedness of historical events & the influence of large-scale trends. It's almost too surreal that in 2024, this principle will manifest in the proliferation of AI & the convergence of the biggest election year in history
