My thoughts are this:
1. I'm cautiously optimistic for how it turns out, but considering LOOP's weakest prehistoric portions are widely considered the Mesozoic ones as opposed to the Cenozoic and especially the Paleozoic ones, I feel its going to be lesssr then LOOP, even when it wasn already not

Boy, what a generic title. I sure hope is just a placeholder and we get something more, even "Life on our Planet: The Dinosaurs" would be better.

Have learnt from Andrea Cau that French palaeontologist Philippe Taquet died yesterday, aged 85. Taquet published a substantial amount on north African and French #dinosaurs, including Ouranosaurus, spinosaurids, the dromaeosaurid Pyroraptor and much more.

Read the book at my library, loved it.
Just imagine an update of it, covering 2000s and 2010s or even 20s stuff.

As an author, it can be hard to tell if #books you've done have had any impact. Partly this is because you generally get minimal feedback, and partly it's because you don't ever see enough money to feel any sort of reward. In 2009, I published The Great Dinosaur Discoveries with A&C Black... cont

My cabbages!

An aurochs has broken into a vegetable garden. While curious kids and domesticated cattle watch, a courageous farmer attempts to chase it away.

This scene takes place in Poland around 1400 AD.

It's not just ambition on climate action that's being run down, but nature.

Planet Earth is in the fight of its life and, on balance, those of us who are its allies are losing.

It's our duty to work out why, and act on it.

Mainstream palaeoart often seems lily-white in terms of the diversity of its contributors. But pieces of palaeoart that rank among the -MOST SEEN- works in the entire field were examples of black craftsmanship. This week came news on the passing of Garfield G. Minott (1966-2025)... cont

If you live in the US, call your fucking representatives and tell them to oppose KOSA, STOP CSAM and the SCREEN Act and tell them to protect Section 230.
www.badinternetbills.com#stop-csam

In addition to calling your reps, this website has both a lot of information explaining why these bills are bad/ why section 230 must be protected, as well as petitions to sign for each individual issue!

Signing petitions helps! Make your calls, sign petitions!

RIP to him.
Man, it really sucks there are so frw Black Palaeoartists like him.
Got informed about some sad news. Garfield Minott, a prolific dinosaur modeller, special effects and palaeoartist, recognised for contributions to the description of dinosaur binocular vision, passed away at age of 58.

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

Random Dinosaur doc I found out about yesterday: Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival.
Its a spanish production for younger audiences about a little girl being taken through the world of dinosaurs, for planetariums.
While evidently made for the under 10 crowd, i find it a decent palaeodoc, elevated by
