The outrage seems to stem from the fact this older man is a US citizen- many have began to accept it’s different if the person is not American
I think there is a simple way to prioritize them:
1. relates to a service local government is responsible for
2. relates to a service the province is responsible for that directly impacts local government
3. relates to provincial government policy that LG wishes to advocate for/against
The reason it had to be voted on is it didn’t meet the criteria of an emergency resolution- that the matter arose after submission cut off.
I had a late resolution that was debated on Friday morning that met the criteria.
My personal opinion is each region should get to have a max of 10 resolutions. Would force delegates to decide on priorities.
Current problem is when everything is a priority nothing is!

Coyne nails it here - Kirk was no moderate and those who pretend he was (ehem Federal Conservatives) are demonstrating true values
calling actual fascists out is not rhetoric it is patriotic duty
The death of Charlie Kirk did not make him a moderate
He is well on his way to sainthood among MAGA Republicans

MPs can denounce political violence without honoring a person who's life's work was spreading messages of hate against marginalized groups... doesn't seem that complex
Jesus Christ.

A standing ovation — from Liberals too — for Charlie Kirk in the Canadian House of Commons.

You can (and should) oppose political violence without doing all this, you know.
I was coming here to say the same thing
Latest CMHC reports showed Courtenay's vacancy rates have moved to 4.3%
Still lots of work to do around affordable rental availability, but it is encouraging to see a more balanced rental market developing
More new rental units coming up in Courtenay. I wonder if 2025 will be the year we finally see balanced vacancy rates (around 3%)
Only if you’re looking for a new status symbol
Courtenay is no place for hate. I'm happy to see the RCMP taking this seriously - it's of course much bigger issue than just damage to property

BC Gov has backed pedaled on their commitment to have mattress producers pay for the cost of disposing their products - citing affordability reasons. A short cited move that will see more illegal dumping and increase costs of disposal.

B.C.'s move to halt mattress recycling will cost people more, say critics
Move to drop mattresses from producer-pay list will cost people more, say critics

I encourage elected officials from around BC to speak to their MLAs and request that the mattress Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) be implemented as has long been promised by the Ministry.

I received one of these texts this morning - at first glace it looked legit, even though I sure that ICBC doesn't send fine reminders via text message.

Ah summer… so much beauty surrounds me. What a place to call home!
The Government of Israel is redefining their own limits of terror and evil each day of their assault on Palestine. Bombing people seeking food in a famine of Isreal's creation.
How can our government standby and do nothing?

At this point, has Mark Carney made any decisions that Pierre Poilievre wouldn't? So far he's playing nice with Trump, promising massive cuts to federal programs so he can spike military spending, and passing multiple bills of dubious constitutionality.

An absolutely deplorable record so far.
that helps limit the frequency of how often I eat it :)

Comox Valley Emergency Management is aware of a fire in the Comox Lake area. BC Wildfire Service is responding and will be supported by nearby fire departments if necessary.
that's hard to make sense of!
I’ve been very disappointed with the BC GOVS recent shift away from climate action. We need to ensure our economic development is focused on the future - a transition away from fossil fuels
