Why is it that when people think about traveling to the past, they worry about doing something small that will drastically change the present, but no one in the present thinks that doing something small today can drastically change the future?

I've seen one take that all art knowledge should be free, and younger me would've agreed. But I've seen how professional artists tried doing that and got lambasted for it on other platforms from young artists who didn't believe them or respected their time and effort. In that respect I get why.
