The orthoceratoid Michelinoceras anguliferum, sporting a natty set of zigzags along its shelll, is probably better dressed than most of us today. Here, it's inflicting a fashion attack on a buried worm. Cambrian polychaete Canadia spinosa is shiny, thanks to structural colouration. A minor pile up between three migrating trilobites, Eldredgeops rana. The red dots on these animals are strange translucent lenses that might, it's speculated, be windows for pigmentation through their carapaces. Two Dieneroceras subquadratum conversing about life as drifters in Triassic plankton. The banding pattern on their shells is fossil accurate, although the exact colours are unknown.

I still get hit with the block from time to time. Stepping back from news/social media can help, but largely I find it's a "no way out but through" thing. Make what preparations or changes you can to keep safe, and otherwise do your best to live your life. It's scary out there, but we're still here.
I've been feeling that giant "ever-present fear and uncertainty" block from your one comic on top of me lately. What have you found works well for getting out from under it?

It's not that there are no conversation about male beauty standards. They are happening. But so many of the conversations women (and folks perceived as women) are having about the return of the 90s/00s ED culture completely cuts out men.

A very special humid, tropical forest bird, the White-throated Shrike-Tanager today at La Tarde Wildlife Reserve in the Osa Peninsula #CostaRica

These birds lead mixed flocks through the forest, micro-managing other species. I'm not sure what benefit they get from that behavior.

I love spending time with Scarlet Macaws. They're such entertaining, funny birds. They form very tight pair bonds; you never see a single macaw fly over, you always see two.

Before bedtime, they perch next to each other and preen one another.
