My TV/movie viewing was strictly curbed as a kid which meant that I was obsessed with stuff I was not allowed to see and had to base my opinions of on the rare TV advertisements I'd catch watching sports. For this reason stuff like KRULL and ICE PIRATES resonated as much as STAR WARS or MAD MAX

Krull is on Tubi. Far from a great film, but with the Superman, the Movie guy handling VFX & Cronenberg's cinematographer on 10 movies shooting it, it's a feast for the eyes. Initially forgot who did the score but instantly thought "this sounds like James Horner recycling himself," and yeah, it was.

Gary Oldman had pretty close to the same hairdo in CRIMINAL LAW as in DRACULA

(2010) THE TEMPEST - Julie Taymor

Was shocked to learn I'd missed a whole-ass Julie Taymor Shakespeare adaptation, but afterward I understand why nobody was clamoring to get more eyes on it. A few fun small touches aside, it's no TITUS

I'd still pick it up if I saw it in a used bookstore. Gotta have em all.

Great haul (though ASK THE PARROT is the only Stark/Parker book I quit reading ... haven't read all of them)

We also had the entire theater to ourselves

When he turned 5 I took my son to see TRON: LEGACY for his birthday and it blew his wee mind. Visited him at school this weekend and for his 20th birthday there was no way we weren't seeing TRON: ARES if seeing TRON: ARES was an option. We enjoyed it

Love CROSS OF IRON though I tend to think of it as PATHS OF GLORY with tons of explosions. Put it on the list

CROSS OF IRON (1977). Think THE WILD BUNCH on the Russian front with even more slow motion action. Peckinpah shifts between Nazisploitation & diamond hard anti war film. Coburn supported by a great cast, Mason, Warner & Schell. Definitely deserves a place on my war is noir film list: boxd.it/v8kuQ

Had a big crush on Diane Keaton as a youngster and her qualities continue to reveal themselves to middle aged me. Most recently in the incredibly stacked cast of HARRY AND WALTER GO TO NEW YORK

(2009) THE SLAMMIN SALMON - Kevin Heffernan

I liked SUPER TROOPERS and CLUB DREAD back when they were new, but for some reason I quit keeping up with those Broken Lizard boys. My fucking loss. In the last year I've caught up with a few previously unseen and turns out they're very much for me

I missed the Friday thing

Loved the cut in E3 going from a McLachlan scene to Hawke pretending to be "agent Cooper" of Fish and Wildlife

I did see Allison Anders' RING OF FIRE, but don't remember him in it... I mention TORQUE because apparently that's the next most recently made movie I've seen him in

Great to see John Doe pop up in THE LOWDOWN, but it was distracting trying to figure out who he was. Sometime in the last 20 years since TORQUE he turned into gnarly badass Beau Bridges

Future episodes of the BRING ME THE HAIR OF ANDY GARCIA! podcast would definitely include 8 MILLION WAYS TO DIE, CLINTON AND NADINE, HOODLUM and BIG GOLD BRICK - that's amazing hair-acting range!
