There have been three major protests of the Trump era. Hands off had ~3 million people, the first No Kings had ~5 million people, and yesterday had ~7 million people. You certainly wouldn't know these were some of the largest protest in American history from reading the New York Times the next day.

we maintain that there is a difference between protests, which must be organized quietly and require experienced leaders and locked in opsec, and rallies which should be family friendly and you can sign up to join

Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

At some point Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem and Pam Bondi are very likely going to persuade Trump that it’s time to show Democrats and liberals who’s boss by killing a bunch of protestors.
