@mawgac.bsky.social
I enjoy long, engaging video games, hot sauce, scotch, and fantasy/scifi books. Married to @mebrown25.bsky.social and a father of 3 + a Yorkie.

Continuing my tradition of listing 2025 #Gaming goals and hope for news
1. Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster (Finally completing NG+)
2. Cyberpunk 2077
3. Legend of Dragoon (I first wanted try this when I was 17, but never got the opportunity)
4. Astro Bot (Emmett said I could play it lol)
So I'm staring at my backlog of games. Some have been there for years (still looking at you, Demon's Soul) and some are more recent acquisitions (Kena, Returnal, Indiana Jones).

I made some red beans and rice from scratch today which I have never done before. Kids, who had never had it, asked what it was. I absolutely lost it when she described it as "Cajun beanie weenies".

Which is absolutely true.

Finished Ghost of Yotei (aside from a few clean up tasks).

It is a beautifully stable game that has great controls, gorgeous backdrop, and a well told, if predictable, story. I dropped it from Hard to Casual (because I don't have time to retry a dozen different movesets),

You should read this every single week, especially if coworkers are pushing heavily for using AI to replace critical thought.

@sophiemcbain.bsky.social has done a fantastic job here.
Are we living in a golden age of stupidity?
From brain-rotting videos to AI creep, every technological advance seems to make it harder to work, remember, think and function independently …

Watching Frankenstein and it every bit as good as touted. However, I'm really waiting @netflix.com to announce the obvious crossover with "Is it Cake?"

Remember when not being able to pray at a high school football game was considered an act of federal tyranny?

Trump raises the price of the ballroom to $350 million

(It changed from $200 million, then $300 million, now $350 million within the course of a few days)

EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

To be clear:

LA County has declared a state of emergency BECAUSE OF the federal government.

The Feds, LA County is (correctly) saying, have CAUSED the emergency.

This is a striking political moment of internal collapse. Local govts feeling compelled to protect their ppl from … their own govt.

Trump's conversation with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is caught on a hot mic. Hard to tell exactly what they are talking about, but Subianto asks Trump about meeting Eric Trump and Don Jr, who supposedly have nothing to do with government while they run the family business.
