Like so many, I took part of the Criterion Flash Sale. The titles I managed to snag:

CRONOS
KURONEKO
THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE (1962)
ALL THE BEAUTY AND THE BLOODSHED
MALA NOCHE
After settling in on MAYHEM, which has grown on me, as much as Abracadabra is the big hit track, with each repeat listen, "Garden of Eden" is easily my favorite one.
Love this one!! Famke Janssen is venomous perfection!
5 movies to get to know me:

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
Weekend (2011)
The Lost Boys
Paris, Texas
The Bob's Burgers
5 movies to get to know me:
Death to Smoochy
Cecil B Demented
In Bruges
The Little Hours
The Lighthouse
Last night's spooky season viewing: Rewatch of SCREAM 2 (1997)

Still my favorite sequel of the series. Also, SMG's big scene still gives me the chills.

"Don't forget to set the alarm!"

My goal with the GoFundMe campaign is to raise $100/day to fill in the holes left by a family emergency and lost work, a month of doctor visits and new medications, and several writing gigs that have dried up b/c of festival season! 💛

Josh O'Connor is the best irresistibly charming scuzzball character actor in a long time.
AFTER THE HUNT isn't a colossal disaster but is still disappointing compared to Luca Guadagnino's previous work. Incredibly well-acted (Stuhlbarg, low-key MVP) yet has heavy-handed dialogue, poor lighting, and even an underwhelming score by Reznor & Ross.
Nice!!

I know its response isn't the greatest but I'm still curious about it and like the actors involved.
Since I got the 2-for-1 special and got my flu and COVID shots and treated myself with Burger King for lunch, I'll probably give myself double the reward w/going to tonight's early access screening of AFTER THE HUNT.
A good afternoon to this pic of Boyd Holbrook posing in knitwear.

Anyone else ever just get tired of being tired?
Not a definitive ten, but ten of the best to date. #FilmSky
Second this. No matter how awful a movie is, there's still always an effort from those involved to make the best movie they can.

I'll watch CATS again before I ever watch an AI movie.
One thing AI is good for is reminding people how even the very worst movie they’ve ever seen is better than AI “movies”

A NIGHT LIKE THIS is a depiction of loneliness and the need for connection over the course of one night that's as enduring as it is confronting and is bolstered by the genuine chemistry between leads Alexander Lincoln and Jack Brett Anderson. #NewFest
