Spent the last decade reading conservative blogs use the word "Orwellian" more than they used the word "the" and now they're literally just saying "War is Peace" out loud in front of everybody.
Hegseth: "As history teaches us, the only people who actually deserve peace and those who are willing to wage war to defend it. That's why pacifism is so naive and dangerous."

If a man shoots a Democratic congresswoman, he’s a mentally disturbed individual.

If a man shoots a Republican congressman, it’s because Bernie Sanders brainwashed him and turned him into a sleeper agent who is activated by the phrase “tax cut.”
How to Tell the Difference Between a Lone Wolf and a Coordinated Effort by the Radical Left

I loved @vermontgmg.bsky.social's latest piece so much that I asked if I could republish it on The Handbasket and he so generously said yes.

As Trump calls the National Guard into DC for a fake emergency, let's remember that he waited 187 minutes to do it when there was a real emergency.

January 6, 2021 in the middle of an insurrection: Trump doesn't send the National Guard.

August 11, 2025, with crime down (but Big Balls got a boo-boo and Don needs a distraction from the Epstein files): "Send in the troops!"

JFC, this is the dumbest timeline.

First up: magic math.

Republicans are rewriting the rules so that tax breaks for billionaires officially cost zero dollars.

They’re LYING to Americans to try and make their giant billionaire tax breaks make sense. I’m a NO.

"Trump decided to reopen Alcatraz right after watching Escape from Alcatraz" is far too ridiculous not to be exactly what happened
"Clint Eastwood’s 1979 classic Escape From Alcatraz was shown on a South Florida PBS station the night before. (Trump was at Mar-a-Lago for most of the weekend.)... Local outlet WLRN had it on at 11 a.m. ET the following morning. Shortly thereafter, the president posted an emphatic announcement."
