🇨🇦 NEW: "Not only would these 12 sub-$40,000 EVs fill the demand for more affordable electric cars and hatchbacks in Canada, they would certainly also provide a much-needed boost to EV sales... (If only Canada would) open the door to European-homologated vehicles," writes @mattbubbers.bsky.social.

In North America’s tightly integrated auto manufacturing sector, parts may cross the borders of Canada, the U.S. or Mexico five or six times before being put into a finished vehicle

The price of cars is too damn high
The average full-time worker earning around $76,000 a year would have to spend more than their entire after-tax annual income to buy the average new vehicle listed on AutoTrader, and that’s a problem

The largest part of Elon Musk's wealth is Tesla, a company with an insanely inflated stock price that is wholly dependent on positive consumer sentiment. Tarnishing Tesla's brand could plausibly cost Musk $100 billion.

Clearly built with a singular, peculiar vision to be a new old-fashioned off-roader, it doesn’t break any fresh ground, but the Ineos Grenadier is a breath of fresh air

Car companies in Canada predictably upset about feds not renewing $5000 EV rebate.

Will you rush to buy an EV before the rebate ends? Do you care? Do you want cheaper, smaller EVs, or no EVs? How can Canada hit climate targets?
