Scene: summer 2027, me standing on a hill overlooking another US city burning to the ground. Speaking to no one in particular as the gun battle inches closer.
"You know, the world was a much better place when we had a mainstream media that most people accepted as truth."
I dont think I've seen anyone note that the Supreme Court decision that ended the Watergate era was about Nixon attempting to answer a subpoena with edited tape transcripts. Yet there is a 0% chance this Supreme Court will do the same with these Epstein docs. We've lost a lot.

If you talk to parents about vaccinating, @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social Focus Group podcast from this week is worth your time. She interviews a bunch of MAHA types, and their answers all come down to trust. Regardless how we got here, restoring trust is key to getting out.

I'm reading the most wild speculation about the reasoning behind the wacky changes to vax policy. If you've been listening to these people for two decades, you'd understand how simple the thinking is: to them vaccines are bad and dangerous. That's it.

Records on this label often have the same players found on boutique labels a few years prior, but they go for a lot less money. This one has Dave Burrell on piano.

It is remarkable that any major financial transaction we make (major purchase, loans, new credit apps, etc) are followed by a flood of scam calls and texts and we all ignore it. We live in treacherous times, and our leaders like it that way.

RIP Joe Ely. Did more to make country cool to a new generation than damn near anybody.

Holy hell, not used to seeing my neighborhood in the international news. Im at the top of a big ass hill, but that levee breach is about a mile or so from me. Stay dry down there, and get the hell out of the way.

Thats kinda unfair - 2020 was famously a lockdown year. There were 1261 in 2019, the first year in recent memory that we had major outbreaks.

Bluesky this week: "ooh I can barely describe how much I hate this book that I rushed out and bought the first week it was released."
Try 50 Shades of Grey. The DaVinci Code. Maybe something from young adult section.

Only 50000 people bought the first Velvets record. All of them started candy companies or became president.

Is kind of a strange flex that we know every person on every boat, their affiliations and motivations, yet even our most passionate liars dont claim to know where these boats were headed.
If the Sep. 2 boat really had "narco-terrorists" on board, questioning the survivors would have been a way to learn about how the organization worked, where more drugs were stashed, etc. But this isn't a counter-terrorism campaign. It's a shooting gallery with helpless targets.

I feel like writing "good times machine" on the side of the van is going to increase your risk of being pulled over by an unacceptable amount. Dont recommend.
Hoowee this album smokes. Production is too 70s cop show, but the guitar player is a champ. Echoplex moves.

Can someone help me understand what the ACIP vote means for a VFC practice come Monday morning? I work in the Western Coast Health Alliance area, if that matters.

The view from the top of Skyway hill, south Seattle. Power back on before I had to trash my fridge, yay

This is a great point, and one you'll only understand fully if you do this for a living. The pieces fit in a specific way, this is not a choose your own adventure trip.
3. The biggest issue, which was represented by the manufacturers yesterday, most infants get combination vaccines that contain hep B.
By having infants on different schedules we would have to carry additional vaccine products which adds complexity and also risk of medical errors.

Today was the day people like me have been warning you about for years. Today we embraced denialism as policy, and there will be deaths in 2075 that will result. We should all be embarrassed.

True story: night before SATs, my friend and I tried to see how fast his mid-70s wood panel station wagon would go. Turns out, 130. Blew up the motor. Had to hitchhike 20 miles back to town. Got in 5 something AM, just stayed up.
Also guy is a clown
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

RIP Steve Cropper. Nearly 1K credits on RYM. Here's one missing - a Dennis Coffey style instrumental LP from 1973.

If we allow antivaxxers to win this fight, it will reinforce the "too many too soon" lie. They won't stop here.
JOURNALISTS: It's essential to know how to cover the upcoming #CDC #ACIP mtg on the #hepB #hepatitisB #vaccine for newborns. Delaying the birth dose rec to 2 mos could cause 480+ deaths/yr. Check out this backgrounder for all the links & research you need. healthjournalism.org/blog/2025/12...

Another thing these people all have in common: none of them are part of the group of doctors well known from the anti-vax activist circuit. All radicalized by COVID. That means something, I just dont clearly see what.
What do all the Covid “contrarian” MDs have in common?

Prasad: heme/onc
Atlas: rads
Ladapo: cards
Makary: surg
JayB: no residency(??)
McCullough: cards
“Dr Drew”: addiction
Cole: pathology
Etc, etc

None have either specialty training or direct experience in treating critically Covid patients.

This made me laugh so hard I damn near fell off the treadmill at the gym. OMG - concealing identity while doing street violence?

I bought this in winter of 89/90 when I was first getting into free jazz. PJ recommended this along with a few other heavies - a couple by Noah Howard, Frank Wright, Patty Waters. Somehow, I kept em all through at least 20 moves since. Most of haul were from John Sinclair collection.

Found a banger today. Sun Ra and Blues Project are the players. And unlike other weird sell out cameos, it sounds like them. Isn't there another Dan and Dale with the VU on it?

Always fun to see the people most afraid of potential unknown late stage bad effects of vaccines so whole heartedly embracing GLP-1, testosterone biohacking, botox, etc
Remember Andrew Wakefield?
Here he is with his friend RFK Jr. in 2020.

Wakefield is the guy behind the fraudulent, retracted MMR–autism study. He lost his medical license for subjecting autistic children to unnecessary invasive procedures.

Now, with Kennedy in power, he’s getting a second act.

When directors are trying to capture this era in future films, i think absurdly overdeveloped biceps on paunchy middle aged men will work. Just like how pastel and neon drop you in the mid-80s.
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen
