My partner's playing it rn and every time she tells me something about it, I'm like "woah they can do that in a pokemon game?" lol

Like the realtime battle, trainers getting hurt, cooldown-based healing items, it all sounds so good and fresh.

When you are pure of heart no amount of earnestness is Cringe. When you are a malevolent little freak no amount of sarcasm is enough to make you cool

HOLY FUCKING SHIT

GUYS

GUYS THIS IS IS SEISMIC

GUYS I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU

OPUS DEI IS THE SCIENTOLOGY OF CATHOLICISM THEY ARE THE ONLY THING "THE DA VINCI CODE" GOT RIGHT THEY ARE AWFUL AND THEY ARE EVIL AND THEY HAVE ENORMOUS POWER AND THEY ARE INTEGRAL TO TRADFASH CATHOLICISM
BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV is set to effectively disband Opus Dei in the coming weeks.

This would be the most sweeping internal reform of his pontificate — and a dramatic continuation of Pope Francis’s legacy.
NEW: Pope Leo Set To Break Up Opus Dei
If Pope Leo does indeed approves a plan that effectively dissolves Opus Dei’s structure, it would be the most significant internal action of his short pontificate to date.

Dell Buds have Treble Boost (tm) technology to emphasise the thin, nasal voices of your coworkers during meaningless Zoom meetings. If you try to play music on them they release a potent neurotoxin.
I can’t believe these are real
Honestly they're probably very cool and useful for someone who writes exclusively for themselves. But like. I was really, really hoping to be able to add tooltip functionality to public-facing stuff.

Like that was kinda the whole appeal, to me, was the large library of community plugins...
also the fantasy calendar i'd been configuring for like an hour just disappeared when i had to log out and back in for something ouuuughghghhhhh i am going to bed i cannot take this disappointment
Ouuuugghhh i am a fool. i didn't realize community plugins you install for your local obsidian instance wouldn't translate to obsidian publish. so now i have a bunch of custom markdown stuff (tooltips) that look super cool on my computer and then they're just bald text strings on the site lol

Get this! As far as I can tell, each box also only contains 2 playable characters? I think??
At gencon with a friend this year, we literally—not doing this for the bit—spent 6 minutes standing around SFG's Elden Ring board game booth reading the looping screens and looking at the boxes, desperately trying to figure out what we'd need to buy to play. We ended up buying nothing. lol
It is presently rocking my world imagining the meetings that led to this
I don't envy the task of trying to distill a meaningful quantum of Elden Ring into a board game experience, but this is wild, man.

"What's the core set? I see these ones labeled 'expansion' or 'upgrade' but none labeled 'core'."

"lol you're not gonna believe this but there are kinda either 3 or 0"
Took a second to try to figure out how the steamforged Elden Ring board game actually works, because there are like 15 boxes and none of them seemed to be, like, *the* core set, and the answer was... interesting.
I found this thing because I googled a fantasy word I made up to see if it actually existed (it was made from latin roots, so like, better than even odds), and it only seems to have ever been used in this book, by an insane person.
This thing seems to be mostly a glossary, and like 2/3rds of the entries just say "see -Ism" or "see -Ismus".
I like how book titles used to just be like 325 words, we should go back to doing that
