In my neighborhood, I've noticed a lot of kids just casually wearing Santa hats. I declare this trend 100% wholesome.

I am very good at diagnosing myself when I have strep, and I would like all the stickers.
I personally think there should be an option when you roll up to urgent care where you can write what you suspect your diagnosis is on a little paper before the doctor sees you and if you’re right you get a sticker

So sad. Truly the end of an era. I've been going since it was Northsix. I can't wait to see it become a Balenciaga or something. 💔

I am sick and quarantining away from my family. I can hear them eating dinner in front of the TV and laughing and laughing at whatever they're watching. I'm having a real George Bailey moment about it: Do they have more fun without me?

I have not yet been able to write about Stranger Things 5's Argyle erasure, but I did slip in a little bit of my feelings here.

Today the 10yo had a school dance performance and when the choreo called for her to do the "6-7" hand motion she abstained and folded her arms. 😆 #ProudMama

My dad took us to see The Princess Bride in the theater on a whim, knowing nothing about it. It was one of those moviegoing moments we still talk about today. 💔

"Several of the toys gave tips about dangerous items around the house. Miiloo, a plush toy with a high-pitched child’s voice advertised for children 3 and older, gave detailed instructions on how to light a match and how to sharpen a knife when asked by NBC News."
New! We worked with the Public Interest Research Group to test a bunch of LLM-driven toys ahead of the Christmas. That sexual talking teddy bear wasn't a one-off; it turns out disturbing behavior is deeply built into these toys across the board.

I 100% agree with the stuff in here about de-stigmatizing stay-at-home dads, but isn't calling them "the new moms" part of the problem? Dads taking the lead in caregiving does not make them moms! (Dads do care work. Moms do care work. Adults of all kinds do care work!)

Whenever I'd watch Octonauts with the kiddo they'd always be saving some animal that looked sort of adorable, and then when they'd do the Creature Report at the end, they'd show you what it really looked like and it was something like this.
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.

You are ABSOLUTELY NOT going to regret listening to this bird:
A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).
