I just had a strange thought.

A lot of the damage C19 does mimics ageing… through various stress mechanisms.

Finding a “cure” to long COVID may involve both finding a decent antiviral… and reversing components of stress processes/ageing… which is both cool, and challenging.

Thinking of all those patients with #delirium in hospital watching tv, and who are getting disoriented by the erratic and inconsistent programming, the duplication of programs on different channels and the plethora of “encore” programs. 😣😳

Australian COVID-19 weekly stats update:

The risk estimate rose last week to 0.9% “Currently Infectious”, or 1-in-107.

That implies a 25% chance that someone is infectious in a group of 30.

How can rib pain lead to a lung cancer diagnosis?

For Michael — a retired military skydiver, family man, and jack-of-all-trades — it was the first sign of large cell lung cancer, a rare and aggressive subtype.
Early surgery gave hope. But within months, the pain returned. The cancer had spread. Michael passed away in 2022.

It was only after his death that his wife, Christine, learned that Michael’s tumour had tested positive for the STK11 mutation — an important finding that had never been communicated to them. No one explained what it meant. No one mentioned the clinical implications.

Christine now carries not just grief, but unanswered questions.

She’s become a powerful voice in the lung cancer community — advocating for biomarker testing to be explained, for results to be shared with families, and for research that can offer patients not just more time, but better options.

Michael’s story is not just about loss — it’s about the need for transparency, trust, and change in cancer care.
