Diane Ladd was one of the first actors I interviewed. She wrote me a lovely letter afterwards which meant the world to someone just getting started. Condolences to her family and friends.
Diane Ladd has sadly passed away at the age of 89.

RIP Adam Greenberg
He was the superb cinematographer who shot Near Dark (watch it!), Terminator 2: Judgment Day and, of course, The Terminator, which means he’s responsible for one of my favourite shots in cinema that also coined a new genre for its film:

Bad Boys. Goldeneye. The Patriot. La Femme Nikita. The Core! he stole so many films. what a fantastic actor. Rest in peace.
I wrote the art book, so thanks. And I also agree about the movie.
Not research, but I have all the interview tapes/digital files.
Really enjoyed Brandon Christensen's retro-slasher Night Of The Reaper (co-starring @mikeflanaganfilm.com's Carrie, Summer H Howell). Check it out on @shudder.com.
Caught up with the final episode of Task, one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time.
Frankenstein opens in select cinemas today before dropping on Netflix on November 7. Do yourself a favour and see @realgdt.bsky.social’s masterwork on the biggest screen possible.
Might finally be time to get my Thing poster framed...
RIP Drew Struzan
A master.

RIP to inspirational movie poster legend, Drew Struzan. Everything he put his pen to ended up being some canonical representation of a movie we now love. Often, the posters are more famous than the movies themselves. Poster auteurism!

We love these unused Struzan designs for Back to the Future.

You don’t need AI; AI is not “inevitable.” That’s a lie being fed to you by companies who are going to lose a fuckton of money if they don’t convince you that AI is something you can’t live without.
NVIDIA and OpenAi:

Concerns that their “increasingly complex and interconnected web of business transactions is artificially propping up the trillion-dollar AI boom.“

Full house for me. What about you?
Gordon Willis was NOT nominated for an Oscar for his cinematography on Klute, The Godfather 1 & 2, The Parallax View, All The Presidents Men, Annie Hall or Manhattan. He was finally nominated for Godfather Part 3 and Zelig, eventually winning an honorary Oscar in 2010

Alas, no. It’s in a tube somewhere. I probably should frame it at some point.
