Things that aren’t a requirement:

Holding the elevator door

Letting someone with only two items go ahead in the grocery line

Handing someone the glove they didn’t realized they dropped

They’re not requirements. You do them because you have the capacity to be a helper.
Someone posted about prepping for a medical appointment they had, and the provider denied a request to wear an N95 mask for the patient’s safety because it’s “no longer a requirement.”

That is plain old bad healthcare provider-ing.

For a number of reasons.

Every month or two I get a notification about being blocked by someone, and I have no idea who they are, and we’ve never interacted.

And I wonder: was it my recent post about how nice librarians are?

Or maybe it was when I joked about the “Lamborghini Chorizo” and that was just too much for them.

Did you know that retired librarians will still be very kind and friendly even if you’ve never participated in one of their book chats?

It’s true.

The worse the world seems, the more I make jokes.

Humour is my lifeboat.

Here’s the thing…

Even if COVID/infection control isn’t a worry for you, it is for others.

The simple (and it is simple) act of donning a mask at a patient’s request shows care and compassion.

Patients are already worried about their health. Why not ease this burden for them when they ask?

Despite social media’s best efforts I’m still very funny, and continue to laugh at my jokes.

I like trying new and different foods. But not everything needs to be a reinvention or fusion.

For example: a potato and cheddar perogie oat milk latte… Seriously, why oat milk?

With everything going on in the world these days someone around here keeps making jokes.

Unbelievable.

I have a variety of jokes based on Don Henley and a line from Boys of Summer.

Name your favourite movie where a comet causes a radiation storm on Earth, and machines - trucks especially- come to life and turn against humans.

I’m pretty sure that anyone who doesn’t like and/or share this post is against democracy.

People ask what keeps me laughing?

And the answer is my jokes. They’re very funny to me.

Listen, I know that was an excessively large spoonful of peanut butter to eat all at once.

But the first half of today has been a lot.

No one suspects the peanut butter sandwich

Simple and strong

Humble, yet known widely

Assumed as the go-to but often overlooked

Consumed from peasant to president

No one suspects the peanut butter sandwich
