This is surreal because my answer to this question is literally Shea Serrano
the first one was chuck klosterman — my all time favorite author

the most recent one is this writer named marion teniade — a pop culture critic i happened across a couple months ago — incredibly sharp — she’s gonna have a big career
Who’s the writer who when you read them makes you say out loud, “Fuck yeah. This rules.”

The Alien franchise had maintained one ongoing narrative for nearly 50 years: how a megacorporation keeps feeding its workers, soldiers, and prisoners into a grisly machine to keep the gears of colonization and capitalism moving. It’s ruthless…and oddly comforting.

Also there's no need to obscure US history of barbarism. Some folks always want to reach for Holocaust comparisons like there's not a guard tower from Angola in the Blacksonian, like camps used to hold Japanese Americans were a picnic.

They gave detainees wormy food. The facilities were filthy.
People want to substitute "Auschwitz" for "Alcatraz" to emphasize how bad this is. But this crisis in Florida is far from the universe of Auschwitz, where more than a million were murdered. Instead of equating them, I'd say we should act now to stop the future from getting any closer to the past.

If the Mission: Impossible movies have been successful at one thing, it’s rehabbing Tom Cruise’s public persona.

(If they’ve been successful at two things, it’s that and convincing me that Tramell Tillman needs his own submarine movie.)
