It’s really quite amazing that GOP has been talking about child sex trafficking conspiracy theory for years, actually building a base centered on it to elect Trump so he could put an end to it and expose the corruption and evilness, and now the emails directly tying him to Epstein are out, silence.

Holy crap. MAGA diehard Danielle Jurinsky lost her city council seat in Aurora, Colorado. She more than anyone is responsible for ginning up the false claim that Tren de Aragua had "taken over" the city. She also repeatedly tried to dissolve the city's groundbreaking public defender office.
Progressives may flip Aurora council as voters reject Danielle Jurinsky and other incumbents
Jurinsky built ties with Trump during the 2024 campaign when he falsely claimed Aurora was being “taken over” by a Venezuelan prison gang.

An absurd media narrative in runup to the election said Dems must choose between being "anti-Trump" and running on substance.

The lesson from this election is that anti-Trump politics *is* affordability politics, and affordability politics *is* anti-Trump politics:

NEW: Mississippi Democrats broke the Republican Party's supermajority in the state Senate tonight for the first time since 2011.

It came as Democrats flipped 2 Senate seats and 1 House seat.

“Mississippi just broke the supermajority—and the people have taken back their power,” the party says.

*Incredible* @runforsomething.net result: still lots of votes to count but Taylor Rehmet is leading *2* Republicans - a former mayor & an executive from Patriot Mobile.

Trump won this district by 17 points. www.texastribune.org/2025/11/04/t...

With the GOP vote fractured between Wambsganss and another Republican, Rehmet narrowly led the three-person contest for the red-leaning district.

Lots to say about the incredibly effective campaign of @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social - but this line from his speech tonight sums up a lot of the magic: “We won because we insisted that politics is no longer something that is done to us. Now it is something we do.”

One of Mamdani’s outstanding qualities is that he seems to be a genuinely nice, happy guy. Despite all the garbage being thrown at him, he and his supporters are staying positive and having a good time.
Early this morning, our city still plunged into darkness, I set off to walk the Brooklyn Bridge.

As the sun came up, we were joined by canvassers, labor leaders, elected officials, and working people — a movement to bring a new day to our city.

Tomorrow, we win it together.

The Democratic wipeout in the House of Delegates was even more unexpected than the size of the Spanberger win. Dems are going to hold 63 or 64 out of the 100 seats in the chamber, with 12 or 13 flips. Absolute disaster for the state Republican Party.

Interesting thread on one possible outcome of tonight’s massive blue wave ⬇️
really important element of this basically total victory is that it puts the fear of god in republican incumbents and may bring the redistricting push to a total halt

Democrats projected to pick up 13 seats in the House of Delegates, turning a bare 51-seat majority in the 100-seat body into a commanding 64-seat bloc that will ease the way for a redistricting plan to bolster their chances in 2026 congressional races. www.vpap.org/electionresu...

i want to repeat this: mamdani and spanberger have run similar campaigns tailored to their respective electorates and it is maddening to watch political journalists attempt to create some broad contrast where none exist
the other thing about this is that there is no reason to pit these candidates against each other? each are good fits for their respective electorates and each shows the value of vigorous campaigns focused on the stated material problems of voters.
