Beyond disappointed with anyone I work with who supports the FDP and SPR after we witnessed the route to policy. It never solved a technical issue.

The Met Office weather app has been updated and it fits in nicely with the enshittification efforts of 2026 to just make everything that bit worse.

All my saved locations from around the world gone and its usability has dropped to the point I’ll just get another app instead.

#Palantir have no business at all working with the #NHS.

NHS England need to wake up.

The Federated Data Platform is a joke of a project bought to satisfy the vanity of a former govt of Tory grifters (or perhaps to suppress some Kompromat).

The Government is planning to send King Charles to the US to celebrate with Trump. Giving him a royal visit right now sends a terrible message that his behaviour is acceptable. We can stop this if enough of us speak up. Will you add your name to the petition? you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/ca...

A great article by @rorycj.bsky.social about UK Healthcare's dependence on Americal IT infrastructure, and how that could be jeopardised by any falling-out between UK/NATO and USA - as seems now likely as Trump's invasion of Greenland seems inevitable.

I completely agree, and I think it'll drive down the costs of building software while driving up quality AND demand.

We do our rotas 3 months in advance because that's the most responsible we can be with our human staff members.

Even with that, we're pretty clear that we know when winter will be coming and that, yes, it will be busier. Hasn't steered us wrong on pressures so far.

i think the biggest push back is that the demand prediction tool on the FDP offers forecasts 1-2 week ahead, while rotas are usually prepared 6+ weeks in advance.

incantation upgrade! @andrewnez.bsky.social taught git to be package dependency history aware.

ask git the history of a dep, who added it to the repo, when was it last upgraded. this is very good.

Does anyone have any *independent* evidence that AI demand forecasting actually is "speeding up patient care" in the pilot trusts?

Does "smarter planning for shifts" *actually* happen in the real world, and what are the human shift-worker consequences of this?
