This week, we're back in the north Shropshire village of Grinshill again, where the now familiar curves of a yellow Glasdon grit bin can be seen in the foreground of a shady wayside verge. This isn't any verge, though. Oh no! For it's located at the junction of High Street and Sandy Lane, which - on this sunny late autumn afternoon - was closed for roadworks. Consequently, in the middle ground, closure signs, traffic cones, and the bonnet of a commercial vehicle can also be viewed. In the background, on the left, the junction of the continuation of Sandy Lane (they're all sandy round here, you see) can also be viewed, on its way to All Saints church.

Frustrating. The first 45 saw some of our most enterprising play of the season (and a superb Luca Hoole strike) but our poor ball retention throughout came back to haunt us in the second term as our attempts at game management floundered in the face of our opponents direct onslaught.

Whittington Castle is a ruined 13th century keep in north Shropshire. The Kitchen @ The Castle at, wait for it, Whittington Castle. Pro tip: if you're going to the cafe, you don't need to pay the £2 parking charge, but you will need to type your rego on the screen inside the restaurant. I went for a smoked salmon, cream cheese and spinach panini, with salad and chips. Fresh as, and would recommend ✅ The soundtrack was provided by a random selection by the Beatles, which included some very deep cuts, so ✅✅ from me!

Braved Storm Claudia for lunch with a mate at Rhubarb in the Drapers Hall, and very glad I did! The interior is everything you'd expect of a building that dates from 1483 - and the food, service and prices were just as good. I went for a fish finger BLT, which was 👌

The Drapers Hall is a Grade Two, 16th century meeting house built by the Drapers' Guild at St Mary's Place, in the centre of Shrewsbury. Church Street and the spires of St Alkmund's and St Julian's can be seen in the background. Entrance sign for the Rhubarb restaurant in the courtyard of the Drapers Hall. A fish finger BLT open sandwich. Incredible value for £10.50, and very tasty indeed!
