Does not surprise me a single bit. Matches my anecdotal and biased selection of papers seen in seminars. My personal opinion is that we should do somewhat less of these and favor more studying actual behaviour. Harder. But I think worth it.
Political scientists love their survey experiments.

I always low-key dance while walking because I am listening to music. Some people always look surprised when they see me. Oh boy, you should see the faces of some Parisians. Priceless. Strongest reaction by far.

Symptoms created by stress levels lead doctors to order a brain MRI to see if all was OK. The brain is OK. Life balance needs major reworking. What a wake up call.

Teaching is a profoundly rewarding and fun activity. What a priviledge to be able to teach younger generations. Few things feel as meaningful to me.

I know people swear on ChatGPT capabilities. People whose judgment I trust. But I can’t get it to be useful for me for more than admin tasks. Is the problem that I am not paying? Do you only get real value added in paying versions? #help

First day of presentation of students on their final projects, and they are very good. Made me so proud. Go my people go! 😍

Should I be offended that every time I ask at Science Po reception for any info they think I am a student?

I am watching (a not great but entertaining TV series) set in Bogotá in the early 90s. I have never seen a more unrealistic representation of what a prison (in Colombia) looks like.

If only the political leaders of the traditional right in Europe read “How Democracies Die”. How much will it cost to send one copy of the book to each?

In words of Linz, Levitsky, and Ziblatt, the demise of many democracies can be traced to a party’s greater affinity for extremists on its side of the political spectrum than for mainstream parties close to the opposite side. CC Spain.

Now out in Party Politics 🎉

Our study (@jbpilet.bsky.social)suggests that when a mainstream right-wing party signals willingness to rule with the radical right, support for the radical right rises — while the mainstream gains nothing.
👉 A legitimisation effect.

Gigantic news for European academia:
I am delighted to share that Nobel laureates Esther Duflo and Abhijit Banerjee will join our Department of Economics @econ.uzh.ch at the University of Zurich on July 1, 2026, as Lemann Foundation Professors of Economics.

No, AI, no. This is for a master course. They should be long. And not, a summary won’t make the cut. There is depth that needs to be grasp via concentrated reading and thinking. Learning needs attention, not speed. We need to stop glorifying short pieces of info and instead reclaim our attention.

Trump: There's a rumor and I don't know if it's so or not—that Cuba, they don't have tylenol because they don't have the money for tylenol, and they have virtually no autism

Honestly, I love teaching so much I just can’t understand how this is not every academic favorite part of the job. So much joy.

Seasoned humanitarian worker from UNICEF tells you how the situation is in Gaza. I think we should all listen. It’s 1h of your time, seems like the bare minimum is to take the time to be informed. open.spotify.com/episode/0BAu...

I might have to work all weekends from Sept to December because I decided to add to my full time job a lecturer job. Could not be happier with this decision (so far). Tune in in December.

I love teaching so much. Together with fieldwork is my favorite part of academia ♥️. I do not see a world where I voluntarily opt out of doing it.
