She touted the oil reserves in Venezuela (the largest in the world) and vowed to privatize the oil industry to enable American corporations to exploit and profit from the country’s resources if she gains power.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Everett after an interaction with members of the Everett Police Department and sent to a juvenile detention facility in Virginia, according to his mother and immigration lawyer Andrew Lattarulo.

The boy’s mother, Josiele Berto, was called to pick her son up from the Everett Police Department on Thursday, the day he was arrested. After waiting for about an hour and a half, she was told her son was taken by ICE, Berto told the Globe in a phone interview.

“My world collapsed,” Berto said in Portuguese.

From the police department, the boy was taken to ICE’s holding facility in Burlington on Thursday evening, where he spent a night before being transferred by car to the Northwestern Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Winchester, Va., on Friday morning, his mother said. The juvenile facility is more than 500 miles away from Everett.

The boy is a 7th-grader at Albert N. Parlin School in Everett, his mother said. The teen and his family, who are Brazilian nationals, have a pending asylum case and are authorized to work legally in the United States, Lattarulo said.

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has been dropped as patron from a growing list of charities after revelations that she once sent a private email to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, calling him a “supreme friend.”

The fallout follows reports that Ferguson contacted Epstein in 2011, just weeks after publicly denouncing him. At the time, she had admitted it was a “gigantic error of judgment” to accept £15,000 from him and promised to repay the money.

Yet, according to The Sun, she privately apologised for disowning him and described him as “generous” and “steadfast.” Her spokesperson later claimed she acted out of fear after Epstein allegedly threatened to sue her for defamation.

Prince Andrew emailed Epstein on 28 February 2011, the day after the well-known photograph of the duke, Giuffre and Ghislaine Maxwell was made public. He told Epstein to “keep in close touch” and expressed a wish to “play some more soon”.

In 2019, Andrew told the BBC’s Newsnight programme that he broke off his friendship with Epstein in December 2010, after the two men were photographed together strolling in New York.

But he wrote to Epstein in the message after the photo was published: “I’m just as concerned for you! Don’t worry about me! It would seem we are in this together and will have to rise above it. Otherwise keep in close touch and we’ll play some more soon!!!!”

He is said to have signed off with: “A, HRH The Duke of York, KG.” (The royal call sign for randy Prince Andrew, which Brits would like him stripped of)

1: how weird is it that they use the term full body wrap in the article and headline and have 2 pictures of it, then show a wrist restraints in the accompanying online picture?

2: Aircraft have safety measures; one being - 90 seconds to evacuate the aircraft. *Impossible* with dead weights.

An AP reporter recounted for Hammond some of the allegations made by people who had been placed in the WRAP for long flights. All of those interviewed by AP said their hands and feet were already restrained by chains. All denied fighting with officers, saying they were either crying or pleading against their deportation to countries they deemed dangerous.

Hammond said that, if true that some people were not being violent and simply protesting verbally, putting them in the WRAP could be improper use.

“That’s not the purpose of the WRAP. If (the deportee) is a current or potential risk to themselves, to officers, to staff, to the plane, restraints are justified. If it’s not, then restraints aren’t.”
