It wasn’t perfect. It didn’t need to be. It was loud, messy, and epic. Theaters were rowdy, fans were split, and horror felt alive again. It gave us spectacle, nostalgia, and a reminder that horror can be FUN.

It's still one of the greatest theater experiences this horror fan could have asked for.

With the horror genre, I don't think we'll ever get the kind of anticipation again as we did with FREDDY VS. JASON.

It wasn't just a movie. It was a horror fans Super Bowl. The one fans dreamed of during recess when they were children. Two of the biggest horror icons finally share the screen.

The Blumhouse Halloween trilogy kept trying to “heal trauma” when all we wanted was Michael Myers making a small-town in Illinois experience a deeply inconvenient night again. I don’t need to see "trauma closure" in a horror movie, I need a wide shot of someone realizing the back door’s open.

In today's digital age, with how far social media has become, you can’t fake that. You can’t even come close to the exhaustion, chaos, panic, and fear.

Every entry ended up worshipping Leatherface. The first one didn’t need to. The real monster was America itself.

The sequels, remakes, and prequels strictly chase shock value. The original? You could feel the sweat, smell the meat, hear the flies. It wasn’t just scary. It was filthy.

SEQUEL IDEA:
Immediately following the events of JASON X, a rogue human-cyborg reconstructs Jason from the nanotech wreckage and debris, leading to Über-Jason hacking and slashing his way through the inhabitants of Earth 2. The more he kills, the more it's up to the cyborg to put an end to it.

There’s an interview going around about AI, so before there are any questions, let me state unequivocally that BLACK PHONE 2 is 100% organic. AI was not used at any stage of the filmmaking from idea generation, research, look books, writing, onscreen images - anything. We’re old school and love it.
