January 6 was like a much dumber version of Hitler’s Beer Hall Putsch and yet a plurality of American voters were like, Yeah, let’s give that guy the nuke codes again. An absolutely world historical debacle of societal ignorance. I’ll never understand it.

If you don't have the skill/time to create a thing: pay someone else to do it, get the skill, find the time, do it badly, or don't do it.

Like we always did. Making "content" generation slightly easier is not worth burning down the economy, the planet, and human dignity.

I don't know how we make it clearer that there is NO use of genAI, even secret and "just playing," that doesn't contribute to damaging the environment and economy that we all need to live.

It is not that hard to just... not. I don't. Ever. I just wrote a 129k word book, while on chemo. No AI.

Qesser Zuhrah and Amy Gardiner-Gibson are on day 46 of their hunger strike. Heba Muraisi is on day 45. All are at a high risk of death.

In 1981 - the last time there was a hunger strike like this - Martin Hurson died after 46 days.

London is the safest city I’ve ever lived in. Every other American I know that lives here feels the same way simply by virtue of the lack of gun violence.

Any pundit or public figure (often taking gulf $) trying to paint this city as crime-ridden is plainly wrong and probably lying to you.

There’s an antiques emporium in Norwich of such unfathomable strangeness every visit produces fresh gasps of bewilderment and terror. Recent finds:

Man answering his phone on the train: Yes? Correct, I’m not at work (pause) I’m not going to answer that because I am not at work today. No, you’re going to have to ask someone who is. Goodbye.

We’re launching Find Friends, a contact import feature that helps you find people you know on Bluesky.

Try it! In the mobile app, go to Settings → Find friends from contacts.

so like, i’m aware that it’s not a done deal that all dems vote no on this bill

flooding folks’ offices with calls tomorrow is probably a good idea if you care about the trans folks in your life
Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will vote on a bill that bans gender-affirming medical care for any transgender person under 18, and threatens any medical professional providing this care to youth with 10 years in prison.

Tell Congress to protect trans youth and vote NO.
Protect Trans Care Now
As wave after wave of extreme measures to criminalize and strip trans people of rights and safety continue, tell Congress to act.

My political comm students wrote really great final papers. They absolutely hate clickbait, outragebait, fear appeals, and everything else that our modern media does to attract our attention and polarize us. They're exhausted and over it. The attention economy played itself.

And finally, today, one year after launching my first LGBTree pride pin to help fund transition, I'm launching another tree!

This time the trees are decorated for Christmas as part of my winter pin drop!
