Every day we have to be reminded that the UK has the most abjectly feudal, let-them-eat-cake-ass media on the planet.
Huge respect to the papers for finding both an 88 year old worried about the tax bill on her 6 bedroom Kensington house and a 20 year old fretting about only being able to save £12k a year tax free.
Top work all around. These are not easy case studies to find.

With all the rancor over file drawers and selective publishing it astounds me that journals and the scientific community are consistently comfortable with social media companies having troves of data indicating harms and then occasionally putting out papers to the contrary.

3 infant #pertussis deaths this year in Kentucky. "Of the three infant deaths reported over the past 12 months, all three were not vaccinated, nor were their mothers."

We first tested maternal vaccination for whooping cough over 80 years ago. It's safe & effective & might have saved these babies.

free study idea! i’ve found myself avoiding the mychart app this year because it immediately showers me with notices about my medical debt, including when i try to schedule appointments. can’t help but wonder whether this is adversely affecting care and/or outcomes for vulnerable patients

I also note what they found: that the LLM can rehash, summarize, stuff that's already been written.

It cannot interpret. It can't put the correct context around the work.
