She was stuck working at a bar in a dustbowl out west somewhere for rowdy clients she couldn’t stand. After reading a few books on sleeping potions and the like to quiet them down, she kept reading. And a few escapes from the lawmen later, we find her hiding out in Leftfield!

You’re in the ballpark! She’s meant to be a broad homage to this style of charlatan character, with some extra legitimate magic and witchery tossed in. But either way you KNOW she’s got a song and dance number stocked up.

Mostly immune! Unlike most Leftfield citizens, Melody is genuinely crafty and remarkably competent. She knows better than to try her own products.

…buuuut she’s still a toon. So while rare, there’s still the occasional workplace accident.

There’s usually a rack of “Cure-all Tonic” set up at the front of her stand. And it’s technically true- it’ll cure all the side effects her other products give you. It I also ten times the price.

Changes to my diet & meds along with a crazy schedule means I've been behind on owed writing work and some other projects. But it DOES mean I'm in prime position to hyperfocus on video games. Yeah I spent three hours fighting a boss in Baldur's Gate 3 I had no business challenging but I GOT HIS ASS

I’m so glad I’m a funny talking animal and most of my friends are, too. I’m glad we all live in a big cartoon city together. Our houses are a few blocks away from each other. There are cool places to hang out at & shops to make stuff in. There are so many hilarious problems to cause. What is “rent”
