Huh, interesting!
That hearing loss thing sounds like a very rare effect tho, thankfully. Like how you can get a severe full body inflammation from ibuprofen.

But yeah, NSAIDs are pretty rough on the stomach lining if in direct contact with it. Food acts as a shield of sorts.

I haven't heard of the hearing side effect, but it does make me slightly tired and groggy. I also haven't heard of needing any stomach acid lowerer, just that you should take it with food so it's not so harsh on the stomach lining... buuut that's a thing with ibuprofen too.

It's not illegal from what I can see, but you need a prescription for it, and doctors are very hesitant in general to prescribe any pain medication at all. Naproxen has been working alright tho. Doesn't kill all of the pain, but I haven't had to deal with the dull aching with it.
